Yes, not adding stuff, but just doing regular software type updates. I think it is the only version of Sims 2 that is still supported in any way.
Yes, there is still an avid Sims 2 community and lots of custom content still being created. For many, it is still their favorite Sims game. I think for those who like the family aspect of the game, the younger age groups are better done than the later versions of the game.
