Introductions! How long have YOU been addicted to The Sims?

Post by ZeeGee »

Stop by and tell us a little about yourself. How long have you been playing The Sims? What is your favorite way of playing The Sims 3? Or just a 'hi' will suffice!

Hi :D I'm JoAnne (not my real name, she was one of my first sims in Sims 3 and I sort of adopted her name as a Sims forummer). I have been addicted to this game ever since my daughter got it for Santa Claus, december 2009. She doesn't play anymore, her mother still does :P

I've been very active in a creative way in the past on a Dutch forum, but now I'm rather keeping the game to myself. I really like this initiative however - why EA doesn't have a creative corner for Sims 3 is really beyond me - so I hope people will start posting here, sharing their creations.

I knew I forgot something.
My name is Gitte. I'm 15 (almost 16) years old so definitely one of the younger creatures out here. I've played Sims 2 for a while, was a reckless 8-years old who accidentally totaly ruined the disc but then I and my sister together got Sims3 as a gift. Bad choice my parents made, I've been addicted to it since then. (My sister didn't touch it in years). I've done a lot in the sims: first, I played different families in 2009 - 2011 when I (as a ten years old, smart, very smart) discovered the community, filled my game with exchange-cc and made a bunch of very crappy stories.

Then I've been a bit active on Dutch forums (one the same as JoAnne65 above me) where I also played with different families. Now I finnaly managed to keep playing with one family, the Alfredos, which I currently share in the stories section on the official forums - but maybe, it the future, I'll also share it here.

Hi, I'm PalmArrow (not my real name, obviously!) Sims 3 is the only Sims game I ever played. I started playing in 2015, and chose Sims 3 and not the other versions because it was the only version that had houseboats and tomb exploring. These are still among my favourite things in the game!

My sim stories are mostly gameplay chronicles, with only small parts that are scripted and acted out. This is also the kind of story I prefer to read, although I've grown to also like scripted and posed stories. Now I like them all! :)

I've been addicted off and on for 7 years. I started with Sims 3 and am not interested in any of the other versions of Sims, at this time. If EA makes a better coded, more efficient version of Sims 3, with all its features and as good or better graphics then I'm all in. Otherwise I'll stick to Sims 3.

I love to create sims, build lots and capture screenshots. Like PalmArrow my "stories" are mostly photo chronicles of my games. I usually play to try new towns, new careers, new scenarios but even when I play to write a story the game play dictates many of the small and some of the large details of the story.

I am a visual person so love to see pictures from other simmers' games.

Hello! I'm Dreamerz and I've been hopelessly addicted to the sims for 13 years (14 maybe, I don't remember anymore. It was *just* before TS2 came out), since my mom got me hooked on it after a coworker reccomended it to her. I'm sure she probably regrets introducing me to it (actually I don't think she remembers it's her fault). It was with TS3 that my addiction got as intense as it is though and that's where my loyalty has remained.

My favourite thing to do in sims is to play around in CAS for hours on end, and then toss the sims in my bin and forget all about them XD.

I have 2 sims families who have survived many years, a few computer switches and crashes and all kinds of things. I adore them more than anything. And I like to share their stories in my "legacies" (I dunno if you call them that, I dunno what I'm doing with them even and I play by no rules whatsoever. It's really just generational, sometimes I let the story take over too much sometimes I just post screenshots and call it a day I'll play until I get bored of the families and give up, game. But legacy sounds nicer lol). I've mainly been posting in like 1 forum thread and on my weebly though and I've so desperately missed the TS3 Stories and Legacies community that used to mean so much to me. I really hope to get back into that here.

Hi, I'm AmusedShadow and I'm, well, an amused shadow that's been lurking on different TS3 forums to read posts and look at TS3 pictures :)

I've played all iterations of The Sims, starting when I was maybe 8-9 years old. My favorites Sims are TS3 and TS2. I didn't think I would like TS3 when I started out, but here I am today after 7 years of playing haha :D

I like to play single sims and if I'm attached to them enough, I'll give them a family and do family/generational play with them. Usually I would get too attached to them though, and haven't had any TS3 sims that died of old age yet  I also spend a lot of time in CAS creating sims that look interesting enough for me to start playing. I also like to give makeovers to EA premades, since lots of them have potential.

hello hello! Thank you for creating such an awesome unofficial sims forum especially the creative corner! I'm Karisa but everyone calls me Gingis as in GingisChrist since I am indeed a Ginger 😂 I have been playing The Sims franchise since The Sims debuted in 2000! #HappilySimmingSinceTheSims1 my favorite has got to be The Sims 3 including my various EPS Currently I'm playing & obsessed with Island Paradise! It must be my love for tropical islands after visiting Puerto Rico & four Islands in the Caribbean(St. Thomas-US Virgin Islands, Martinique, Barbados & Aruba) that has me absolutely in love with everything in this world! Not to mention, #SceneryPorn um helllueerr it's beyond breath taking! Haha well I'll stop yammering on & continue on checking out these forums!

I've been into the sims since TS1 though I got more interested when I got TS2 and I played that a lot.I eventually got TS3 and managed to find a way to enjoy it and make it playable.I've got a few active legacies in play and a few on hold I intend to get back into again.I got into TS3 a little late because of needing a newer computer and I'm still using that same computer for my games.

It depends. I used to play an early version of Sim City. After a few upgrades some info was released about a planned new game about Sims. At that stage Sims were the inhabitants of Sim City.

In that version of Sim City you could watch the lives of a few Sims as they lived and moved around the city. It was like being in a permanent version of map view.

I looked forward to the release of this new game.

Unfortunately I couldn't afford it when it was released but when Sims 2 was released the price of The Sims was reduced and I got the base game and all expansions. I didn't have much of an internet connection back then and wasn't able to register the game but I loved to play.

After a few years my children had finished school and I had a bit more money available and I decided to get Sims 2.

By then my internet connection had improved.

Before going shopping for Sims 2 I decided to have a look on the internet to see a bit about the game. I found the EA site and discovered Sims 3 was about to be released. I had a little think and decided to preorder Sims 3 instead of getting Sims 2. I narrowly missed out on getting the Collectors Edition of Sims 3.

I picked up the game as soon as it was released. I decided at that point that is get all of the expansions and in the end I got them all as well as all of the stuff packs and all I could find of the store too.

I got the Collectors Edition of Sims 4 but don't enjoy that game and haven't got any of the various packs that have been released for that game.

I've continued to add to my Sims 3 game by finding and downloading mods and custom content since Sims 4 was released.

Now I'm learning about YouTube by making videos about my Sims 3 game.

So that's a brief history of my Sims experience.
