If you haven't updated yet (to the latest patch) you won't be able to do the Easter Egg hunt.

There are 10 eggs to collect and once you collected them all, you unlock a big fluffy friend for your kids!
The eggs can be found in lots of places, the easiest so far seems to be harvesting plants throughout the neighbourhood and your own garden patches, but they do randomly appear when digging rocks and opening time capsules as well.

Please note that you can collect the eggs and unlock the fluffy friend ONLY during the month of April!

As far as I know, the eggs and fluffy friend stay in the buy catalog past April but the random generation around town to "hunt" is what ends. Personally I like the eggs more than the fluffy bunny, but that's just how I am, they are pretty for décor around the house.

I like how they coded the random placements based on the traits of the hunter... my sloppy sims found many eggs in garbage bins
