Click on the stove and see if there is a x1 free at the birthday cake. Hope this helps

@Karen, the stove only shows up unbaked goods eg if you buy the birthday cake at the supermarket which I did a long time back when there was a sale on birthday cakes. It will not show up your baked cake as x1 free. Your game should remember the baked cake and allow your baby to have a birthday. Glad the house move went ok.

I've had a non-parent sim bake a birthday cake at another house, and it worked alright.

Me too, many times! It doesn't matter who bakes the cake and where.

The finished cake doesn't show up anywhere so it looks like something has gone wrong, but don't worry, the game does remember the cake. When you tap "have a birthday" on your baby, everything should go fine.

OK! Thanks! Next goal is to have Molly grow up . Taking some baby pix now that she's awake and then will try . My town is almost finished. I have to build the music work place, the fancy dress store and the competition center, plus try to get the ski lift open (half way there on medals). Is building any of those things going to be a future goal? Should I build the music workplace first so my next Sim can have a job there? Not having much luck with resources for the island. But I'm getting close to next level, so if I have to visit neighbors to get more XP, I'll do that - I know Bazlit and some others have more levels on the island and you can get lots of XP by visiting . Thank you all so much! I sure like this version of Sims better than the Sims Social that was on FB. Everybody wants to play and I don't have to pester non-players to be my friend to get things done. Thanks again for being my neighbors and answering all of my questions.

The only thing with the buildings that you mentioned is using the ski lift and you can't use a neighbors that is unlocked unless yours is unlocked. *nods* have fun with Molly
