How Sims pick their seat to read ..

Post by espressonist »

Any rhyme, reason or pattern?
My Sims always seem to pass up comfy chairs by the shelves, and find park tables outside, or random chairs. :/

Anyone else?

Same. They seem to really like reading outdoors. Even at night.

I haven't found a pattern.
You set up a nice comfy sofa next to a nice, warm fireplace and then they go sit outside in the snow and at night.
I don't get it

I block them in a room, where I want them to read :)

Great idea, Erin
My Sims also love to go outside to read in the dark. My preteen that lives in the double storey mansion especially loves the poolside recliner at the furthest end of the garden. She looks extra uncomfortable when she sits up on the recliner to read instead of lying back comfortably!

They read inside in the dark because the lights are still broken, outside in the dark, in snow, they go e.g. to the bench with umbrella, then put it into the magic pocket and start to read in the rain
Sometimes I forget to remove the blocking things before I save to the cloud  In this case visitors don't have access to my sim or the house, if needed :(

The solution could be, to put a book shelf there. But then, pretty sure, s/he will go downstairs to a seat far, far away

Mine always seem to go for the kitchen chair. Also when I turn on the tv they automatically sit on the Floor even though the sofa is a lot more comfortable. Very strange.

I think they sit as far away from the bookshelf as possible. Perhaps that keeps them from deciding that a different book looks more intriguing and going back for it?
