I have the same frustration with these sims hanging around. I wish you could send them away. However, I realized just now playing the game that if you hit on a sim to help them you can pretty much see what they need. If I see that one of the tasks had to do with jail cells that I don’t have I DONT NOT HIT ON THAT SIM. what happens is that he hangs around for that shift but he goes away at the end -I think. I’ll have to try it out today and see if it works.

Sims where to start

Post by MichaelrearP »

Sometimes it seems as though more important sims show up when you have un-specialised sims working, rather than the high level sim who actually needs them. Maybe you could try to lure then there with the low level sims, start helping them but not finish all the tasks, and then switch over to the sim working on the badge.

I've moved your post to the proper topic for it.

The End of a Profession Specialisation

Post by CatharinaSophia »

I don't know if this is the right place, but I had a question about profession careers.
One of my Police Sims has reached level 10 and built/upgraded all the buildings along the way. Can I unspecialise her without losing the outfit and the building progress? Or is it economically smarter to have her at a high level with tasks that take hours (I never finish her shift)?
And would it be wiser to work outdoors for 8 hours or to do all the tasks and collecting stuff (because selling it also gives simoleons)?
Sorry for the many questions, but thanks in advance for reading this!

Once the outfits are unlocked they remain unlocked whether you have a sim at level 10 or not.

Personally, once I finished all the areas in the profession workplaces I stopped sending my sims to work. Or at least stopped working on the requests and stuff. It really is up to your play style and how much time you want to spend on the game.

Thank you! Do you know if the resources are needed for anything but the Market Events?

Just to build up your workplaces and for marketplace events so far. The marketplace events, especially if limited to resources from one profession, really suck up resources fast.

I'm always terrified that they will change the prizes of the market place events, and I won't have enough resources. I don't send mine to work all the time, but I do occasionally just in case.

Ahh thanks, one last question: I know that you need to have a specialized sim during the building of a room but can you upgrade a specialized room if you don't have a Sim in that specialization anymore?

So I have this ongoing issue where my director keeps getting quests for the Director's area and it isn't even opened yet. I haven't even opened the room before that one. Anyone else have this problem? She's on level 9 and the bar is filled but I can't do the next quest because it involves specialized sims and they always want the director's trailer, so I'm sort of stuck. I can't think of any solution besides opening those 2 rooms using my non specialized sims.
