Hi,
With the Saddle Up update the little blue cloud indicating the completion of one Life Dream task has changed.
Where there used to be a percentage there is now a strange number, the numbers work as follows:
Bronze: 25,000
Silver: 35,000
Gold: 55,000
Platinum: 70,000
So, what 1% means at each level varies, eg Bronze 250pt = 1%, Silver 350pt = 1% and so on.
(Thanks to EA Matt for supplying the answer).

Re: [SU] Life dream progess numbers
That's good to know, thanks!
So now, following on from my earlier thread, it would be great if people who have updated can post the following information:
a) What orb is the sim working towards (bronze, silver, gold or platinum)?
b) What life dream is the sim doing?
c) What number do you get (with the blue cloud) when you complete one life dream task?
I can then collate the results and determine how this new update has affected the efficiency of the goals.
Thanks to everyone who participates; every little helps!

Towards Bronze:
"I always want to go for a Relaxing Skate on the Ice Hockey Rink"
Relaxing Skate is 6 hours: 718 pts
The 12 hours skating worked for me too: 1436 pts.
NOT tested: skating at home.
(I probably won't be posting many of these, since I only have test games on this update.)

Re: [SU] Life dream progess numbers
actually I still have percentages popping up. or maybe the percentages are just for the hobbies that theyre doing for their LD. I could've sworn I saw a % for serious swing earlier today. otherwise that's kind of a pain. I like the % better

Thanks for this!Perturbee wrote:Towards Bronze:

So, by my calculations, this translates to 2.872% for the 6 hour task.
And before the Saddle Up update, people reported that it was about 2.5% for the same thing.
So it could have gone up slightly... However, the 2.5% figure from before was likely only approximate, because it always rounded to the nearest percent and so determining things exactly was very difficult.
And, despite how confusing it looks on first glance, this new "numbers" system does have the definite advantage of being more precise, as the rounding error has been significantly reduced (although presumable still exists to a certain degree).
From before though, I don't recall the 12-hour option actually working for this goal. I could be wrong since all my sporty people did the more efficient diving goal, but if this has been changed with the Saddle Up update, then that at least gives you a bit more flexibility - although the percentage is exactly double (for twice the time), so it doesn't make a difference in terms of total active time involved, but all-night sessions (or setting it up while you're at work or whatever) will be more productive (since you're not wasting time).
So in summary, when working towards a bronze orb for this one goal, there is very little difference between the pre and post update versions. There may be a slight change for the better, but nowhere near enough to offset the other changes of the update.
It will be interesting to compare this to the percentages for the higher orbs, and to look at other goals too, so if anyone has any data - please share!

Re: [SU] Life dream progess numbers
Thanks for the data people!
So it may inded have gone up (104 times to reach 100% as opposed to 200 times before), but that latter figure is only approximate.
So in reality, I would say there's no change here.
(It's 0.396% by the way)
Whichever option you chose, it comes out at about 0.36% per hour. This is compared to about 0.29% before.
The same is true for the diving one.
So fishing and diving both seem to have increased slightly; for a silver orb it would now take approximately 3 days less than before, although again this is not a hard fact because the previous percentages were only approximate.
This works out at 0.956%, whereas before it was approximately 0.5%.Stenn wrote:"I want to write up season statistics on computer" 1hr 36min

This seems to be a new goal; what age phase was it for?Stenn wrote:"Take a long ride on an inflatable animal" 40mins

The times here are roughly proportionate to the percentages you get, although the 24hour option looks to be slightly more efficient.Mitzki wrote:Life Dream: I want to catch loads of fish by fishing at the park

Re: [SU] Life dream progess numbers
I have some data:
Bronze-tricks till tomorrow-119
Gold-make fan movies-1713
Silver- enjoy view - 52
Silver- engineer trains 377
Silver - relaxing skate-754
Gold-short story-158
Bronze-retro game music-359
Bronze-sports star bio-478
Silver - complain on forum- 1131
My poor senior life guarding towards silver must do the action 6.7 times to get 1%. Ridiculous.
I started three sims as adults and think I have a conclusion; only do it if you're only working towards bronze.

Re: [SU] Life dream progess numbers
Good to know. I have added 3 recently as adults, and I am sure I'll have to use LP to rewind them a few times to get orbs. Oh well.lissabmont wrote:I have some data:
