Idiom – Get your skates on or Put your skates on.
Meaning – Hurry up. This expression is used to tell someone to do something faster. ...
This idiom is common in the UK and Australia.
The word skates in this idiom likely refers to roller skates or ice skates. Imagine someone moving quickly wearing a pair of skates.
I didn't realise that this wasn't a known expression everywhere! It still seems strange for them to use it in this context without it being a double meaning. It sounds like they're trying to be witty because skating is actually involved, even though apparently it's not.
I just thought the developers were Australian and we're using a common Australian saying. But maybe I'm just a clueless Yank.

In Germany we would say something like “Get your socks on”, if we want someone to hurry up. But it didn‘t make much sense to me, as we can‘t start an event at all, before it‘s released. That‘s why I found that sentence confusing :)

So there are no new costumes then? Maybe I get a break from this event?

Correct, no new costumes. It has already started in my test game. There are 7 sets to unlock. The first one is the pumpkin head and fawn, the second one is the Frankenstein and fairy, the third set is the vampire and cheerleader, the fourth set is the viking and witch, the fifth set is the candy monster and ghost, the sixth set is the astronaut and pirate, and the seventh set is the lion and unicorn.

So if you have everything from the Night of the Candy Monster quest you won't get this event. If you have the Halloween Costume Pack from either purchasing it from the online store or getting it in the mystery shop box you will have sets 3-5 already and will only have to unlock sets 1, 2, 6, and 7.

I wish they would have a notice for those who already completed an event or already have all of the items that can be unlocked in a current event. Just something that says so and so event is going on but it looks like you have already unlocked everything. Congrats!

It wouldn't hurt if there was an LP or SP bonus, either!! :D

Agreed! They push notifications like "3 more days in the so and so event", but there isn't an event in my game because I've completed it the last time around. It makes me panic, because I tend to leave my game for a few days so I see those notifications and just go, "Oh, I've missed most of it, have I?" :| But with Freeplay being the money grab it is I doubt they'd hand out LP/SP. Simoleons, maybe. Like a go-build-something-and-twiddle-your-thumbs-for-two-weeks sort of treat.

They better have had their plates full with something awesome for Christmas, since only new thing we had for this update was the Ghost Flustered quest. Otherwise it's looks like repeat/hobby events.

I miss those days where the simplest tasks gave you LPs.

oh jesus, the even just ended for me this morning and guess what. i woke up two hours early to check on the game an finish the last set and then i grinded for LPs panickly (/everyone/ was cooking and i mean /everyone/ ^^) and STILL somehow MISSED OUT ON THE LAST PRIZE! It just would not give me the last missing chocolate, no fricking way. I'm mad as hell, tbh.
