Day 1 of "Lost at Sea"

Your boat owning Sim had placed an advert online looking for a travelling companion to accompany him/her during a journey across the Neptune Ocean. They met on the departure day after several exchanges about the details by phone. The first few days went fine, the weather was nice and the ocean relatively smooth. Then one night, a big bang sounded followed by metallic grinding noises...

Oh no! What started as a nice journey across the ocean turned out to be a disaster. Engine failure and both Sims don't have sufficient enough knowledge of engines to get the boat back in working order. They start to blame each other for their lack of knowledge and being stuck out in the ocean.

The situation turns grimmer by the hour. After a fierce argument they each stay as far away from the other. First to call for help and investigate the engine trouble, later to focus on their hobbies to pass the time.

Tasks/Goals:
- Board your two Sims, remove any doors leading outside.
- If you haven't done so, place a woodworking bench and a Fashion Design Studio as far away from each other as possible inside the boat. Also make sure you have a telephone on board. I know this might mean rearranging furniture, but it's part of the fun.
- Make your Sims “Dislike” each other.
- One Sim will be “On hold with Tech Support”, the other starts digging in the “Big book of Stuff”. Once the “On hold” and reading is finished, both can start a hobby (or do hobbies first of that suits your timing better).
- No careers' stuff may be used yet.
- You can have your Sims do other things once the tasks are completed (hobbying at least once).

Reminder: Please do NOT use LPs to finish tasks/goals as stated in the initial outline
Reminder 2: Cloud save regularly, especially when going for a visit to neighbours with another sim.

Feel free to add comments, suggestions, pictures, your stories to each day as they come along. I'll be closing threads approximately 24 hours after the end of finishing that day. So day 1 will be closed at the start of day 3.

Done with arguing about the matter, they decide to buckle down and focus their energy into solving the problem.
Merlot reviews the Engine Specs in the manual while Chardonnay calls the Coast Guard (and is put on Hold!?). :x

Meet Igor and Veronica. Igor is second in command in town hall, he is smart and the fact that the mayor is his partner helps too :) he is somewhat of a playboy and definitely had not settled down. This is his boat. Veronica is university student, often works as babysitter, thinks about political career, she happily took the opportunity to travel and at the same time get inside information about working at town hall. But now she needs to get inside information on how this darn engine works. Politicians know nothing about engines and they are good only for talking on the phone.

(my ocean is somewhere in Pacific time zone so I'll be catching up later in the day especially on workdays :) )

Owen, previously a master in woodworking, has decided to try his hand at fashion. It might be easier, if Sarah would have chosen a different room to read in. They sure have been on each others nerves lately.

This is Evelyn and Kaiden.
Kaiden is a soldier from the United States Army who is currently on inactive duty. He joined up almost immediately after he turned 18. Since serving 5 years active duty he was happy to go home and see his family. He decided to go on the boat because he felt as if he needed to find himself again and what better way to do that then with someone who knows nothing about him.
Little did he know.....

Evelyn has been described as an old soul. She has several causes she believes very firmly in and is always looking to help those in need. She practices both yoga and meditation to keep her mind and body healthy. She is utterly against all forms of violence and war of any kind. She only found out that Kaiden was a soldier just before the engine gave out and She CANNOT believe he forgot to mention that on the phone. Now that she's stuck with someone that she is positively sure she has nothing in common with has put her in a very foul mood that not even meditation is fixing.

Captain Crazy had invited Cassandra Carbonara to join him on a journey across the great ocean.
When the engine made a few loud noises before going silent, Captain Crazy ran to the engine room in panic. He slept through the necessary classes and ended up buying a diploma and license online. He didn't expect any problems, since the previous owner had guaranteed him that the boat was in top condition. His ignorance now costed them dearly and they were floating in the middle of nowhere, without any help.

Cassandra confronted Captain Crazy about his shortcomings, which was only oil on the already simmering fire and he went mad. They had a fierce argument, then he locked himself in the bedroom and used the emergency radio to call for help. Once Cassandra's steam had settled down, she grabbed the biggest book of stuff and searched for a solution.

(forgot to post this yesterday)

Gilly was completely unprepared to go out on Big Daddy's boat this weekend, but he wanted to impress the girl in the big green hat. After convincing Lalli at the club that he was a big time sailor, he found himself adrift in some really bad water (I mean just look at all the seaweed outside the boat... you could almost walk across it).

Well a kelp forest that thick was sure to mess up the engine. Now they are adrift in this tangle with no clear idea of where they are (Gilly never took navigation classes growing up... that is what the help was for).

Short, long, it doesn't matter as long as you're having fun!

I love seeing the stories here and on FB. Thank you all for posting! 8-)
