The shown task times are based on 3-star objects and and also depend on your Sim‘s mood. Inspired Sims will be faster, happy Sims will do the tasks at a normal speed, sad Sims will need more time.
There are several tasks that require more than 10 Sims. The needed options don‘t show up in Clover Cottage, although it‘s in Rustic Acres, too. So we need to do them twice! If the tasks only take a few minutes, it’s not too bad. But there are also tasks that take 4 hours per round. Edit This issue is supposed to be corrected with the upcoming update. Until then we need to do those tasks twice./Edit
In order to get all tasks done in time:
Make sure your Sims are fully inspired
Only use 3-star items
If you have Sims with the Baby Bonus, have one of them doing the tasks for 1 Sim

Players have complained already. There are posts on Discord and answers.ea.com First reply was "The tasks are pretty short…" I didn’t get a reply, when I answered that there are tasks that take up to 4 hours
In FB groups I‘m in players said, they have filed a ticket within the game (they’ve been asked for screenshots). The more players do, the better!

It looks like the complaints worked and the issue is supposed to be fixed in the next update. (The current repeat events will end on November 24th, so we can expect the update short after that.)
At least players who didn’t start, yet, can wait and won‘t have to cope with it
