Ok so I played Sims FreePlay in the beginning and would leave for a while sometimes but come back again later.

Something different happened this time. I tried restarting the game but with the way it is now it feels impossible.

I actually tried using my parents account (Wow this game is old.) and was briefly able to restore data to about six or so years ago.

But then thinking I could use it on my own iPad I deleted the game. Have done so before and it’s been fine. Suddenly I lost even that.

Also to add salt to the wound I had enough Facebook friends who played the game when it first came out that I was on the 2nd to last spot for neighbors. Now it’s only showing one.

I feel like my Facebook is what my game would’ve been linked to the most. But if I try to just use Facebook as the only linked account it still shows no save data.

I would like to know if anyone has any ideas. My next option is a full iCloud recovery but I don’t know if that would even work. Along with that I’d lose progress on other apps.

I’ve managed to track down a number for EA but first it tells me to check ea.help (Already done.) then gives three options.

1. Consumer sales.
2. Employment verifation.
3. Information regarding address.

If you press 1 it asks you to say if it again tries to direct you to a different website.

There’s a lot trouble with the cloud lately For whatever reason the game assigns new Player IDs to towns that existed for years. Of course no one saved to the cloud with the new ID, yet, so there can’t be any save data in the cloud.

Some players could restore their games by logging in with their Game Center account only - no Apple ID and no FB. But this can fail as well. (My Game Center also got a new ID once without save data in the cloud.)

I never did a full iCloud recovery, so I don’t know if this would work.

Regarding neighbors via FB:
You now need to change the visibility of the game in the FB settings „Apps + Websites" at least to friends or maybe better to public.
Then you need to renew the connection game/FB every 90 days. Usually it‘s enough to log in within the game now and then, but it can also be done in the FB settings. Plus your neighbors need to do the same. Others you won’t see them.
Some of your neighbors might have stopped playing, so they won’t show up anymore. But there’s also a mess with neighbors showing up and disappearing again.

I actually used a different iPad to restore a backup and the Sims isn’t even showing up as an option for save data.

Currently I’m trying to see about using my desktop to look at my IPad but it won’t show up under the Apple device app.

Edit; how can I use gamecenter but not Apple ID?

You can contact the Support within the game by tapping the three dots, then info and Online Support. The whole chat will be there. You get a notification when they replied. So far I didn’t read about real help for players. They had to start over and got some currencies.

There‘s also a place on help.ea.com where we can reach them if we can‘t open the game. You‘ll need your Player ID and/or the player name and possibly the eMail address that is tied to your account. I don’t know if it‘s the same office like in the game

However, if your Player ID has changed, it may be too late to get help, as you can’t log in with your old ID.

Yeah, I did end up restarting. But I would like to know about some rewards I lost for example in the Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow live event I know I unlocked one of the earlier prizes of hairstyles, but it wasn’t in a very descriptive pack.

Any idea if participating in FreePlay Replay would cause issues if any of the events that had their final prizes came back again?

Also I ended up joining some FB groups for neighbors and for some reason my iPhone will connect to the party boat but not my iPad?

Did you purchase packs with clothes or furniture for real money in the Online Store in the past? The Support may be able to add those items to your new town. I don’t know what evidence they‘d need to do this, but they‘ll tell you.

Regarding the FreePlay RePlay event prizes
I‘m not sure if the related events will be repeated later. But I don’t think it would cause issues. Guess, the game will handle them like it does with all repeat events.

The Party Boat has several issues. Randomly disappearing and reappearing neighbors, not being able to visit neighbors on one device, but on the other, or not being able to use the Boat at all. E.g. I can only use the Party Boat for about 10 minutes after logging in with my FB account. For this I have to log out first, but the game doesn’t let me - it does automatically once a day, when the globe and the icon above the Party Boat are flashing. Then I can log in, get the rewards and do one or two visits with short tasks and then it‘s over until the next day. This happens on both my devices, iPad and iPhone.

A SimGuru posted on X that the team are working on this, but it will take a while.
