And here I am! Hooked on SFP. I got it for my 11 year old daughter, then downloaded it on my iPad 2. Why?! Why!? Reading? What reading?! Well, I read the forum.
I started and got hooked during the Living Large update (is that the right name? the one with the construct-o coins.) I loved that challenge, and have lots of two and three story homes that I still need to design and furnish, which I love to do. But I get obsessed with earning LP and simoleons, so don't design as much as I'd like. Hey -- I think there is a theme here! Easily obsessed?
I feel your pain!!! My reading has gone right down in the past year.
I'm a 50 year old lady in the SE USA. I'm married and my husband dose not play sims.
I've played sims 1,2 and 3. I play SFP now on my Kindle cause my computer is down. But I love SFP and reading on the forum.
I am an 85 yr old female and started playing SFP on my Kindle because it is free! lol Started in December 2012 and am now hooked. I was playing very properly... no hanky-panky without marriage, not letting a pre-teen go alone to the Community Center without an adult along, worrying about being able to lock the doors at nite, etc. I also stopped acquiring Sims at 24 because I thought that was a manageable nbr. Now I am at level 39 (15% away frm 40), town complete and 1 houseboat with several empty homes and cannot unlock another Sim until level 42. Because 2nd & 3rd level floors are still transparent on the Kindle, mine looks like an "Old lady" town! HaHa
My husband is 85 also and does not understand my obsession. I am woefully behind on my reading........... but I do lurk in the forums to laugh and learn.
I'll be 44 in less than two weeks, mom to two boys (17 and 12), and a full time RN. I live in the PNW, where we are currently expecting a storm featuring hurricane-level winds. I started playing SFP at Christmastime last year.

I am a woman 52 years of age raising three teenagers. One of them is currently in college, one a senior in high school, and one barely out of his preteens. I started gaming because of the last one. We started with Wizard 101 and Pirate 101. We subscribed for a couple of years to Wizard. Then we got our Wii (for exercise don't you know), but I found the My Sims series for him used. He outgrew it before I did. He has moved on to Minecraft. I have been wanting to try a grown up version of Sims for a while, and recently found SFP.

I was taking a break from Warcraft - which I played in quite large doses to play Sims Freeplay and I was hooked.
I have played various versions of the Sims but a bit adhoc, Husband did play Sims FP for a while but has been sucked back into Warcraft
I have played many many different types of games ranging from Kings Quest as a child to Skyrim, DOOM and Heavy Rain.
I am enjoying the house building and goal orientated nature of the game, downsides are the increasingly frequent appearances of in game purchases but I guess that is the way things are going these days!

Warcraft is quite the addiction -- welcome beapas to SFP. You escaped! *grins*.
As for in-app purchases, I just play very slow and sometimes I take days to plant and do hobbies and build back Simeoleons and LP. It can be done.
