It doesn't seem as though I make more. Rent also went down in the last update. I think I have to earn more now if I want to add houses. All the businesses were built some time ago.
My Family home for Lv 39 with TV of 18 million cost 3,915,000, so yours is not that much more, I was expecting it to be in the millions over mines. Thanks

My family home on a premium lot would cost 2.7 million to build. I am level 49 with TV of over 300 million. I think cost is related to the number of houses you have. I only have 15 houses in my town.

I'm at level 32, with town value of just over 6 million, and a Family Home on a premium lot would cost me 3,510,00. That seems a bit unfair. It's taking me forever to earn the bucks to do anything because it soooo expensive. I guess that's the point though... To try and get you to spend real money. It just seems it got really steep all of a sudden. You are at a higher level and have a higher value but it costs you less to build??? What is making my stuff so expensive? I've put off building the last business --car dealership because who cares and has money for that? I have 15 houses and one empty lot.

Like I mentioned, it's the total number of houses (empty lots counted) that you have. I have 15 altogether. Will let you know how much the family home will cost after I collect enough SPs to build a houseboat. I do agree that the prices seem to have shot up recently, but then I didn't really take note of the cost. I know that the 2storey mansion used to cost 5.5 million for me, but rose to 6 million after I built the Scandinavian House.

If I'm correct, that empty lot is actually the house lot where you spent simoleons to construction right? It is then consider as 16 lots utilized.

With 16 lots (standard or premium) utilized, family home will costs 3,105,000 on a premium lot

With 15 lots utilized, it costs 2.7 millions as mentioned by Palmjill.

Yes, there have been several!

The last unique item was the Ice Hockey net in Climate Control, Moving Up featured the "Alien Transporter" (if I'm not mistaken about the uniqueness), and many more before that.
I'm sorry if this has been asked 100x, but can I get past update items like the Christmas stuff ex.? Thanks

I dun think you can get that stuff now. Like the Haunted House... At least I have not seen any of it. I think you have to have been around. Maybe they will do another Halloween thing-- or recycle the old one. But that's just what I think. I haven't been playing very long.
