Wow, had no idea that our saved game showed up like that for our neighbors! Just thought it was an old saved game or maybe not being able to get into the game to tend to our sims...I do know it doesn't take much for my sims levels to go down quick, even on long tasks!

I just tend to save often, but my last save was after hibernating last night. I did see a strange thing visiting. All Sims were actively engaged, but there were puddles of pee all around them. Maybe the person hadn't played for awhile, had just started back, but hadn't got around to cleaning the puddles.

Oh, no! Not in your town. Just a random visit.

Okay - thanks for the update. I've got a Sim woodworking in a neighbor's town, so I can't save my game and I was having visions of pee-surrounded Sims!

When I had to download my saved data while one of my sim was working on a 24-hours task at home, I made the same experience. The hours are going on. Another experience is, that the needs of an unoccupied sim drop down faster in the cloud. If you want to read a description click this topic. But I'm not sure whether it becomes better, if the Tempest Of Bliss is on a high level.

Like yours, also my sims usually get 24-hours tasks before I save. Then I also cancel the actions and let them work on their hobbies or whatever they can do. I think, we can't do more to avoid Zombies in our town, in case a visitor has to stay very long.

Btw. The big book of stuff from a 1-star bookshelf takes 24 hours, too :)
Ah hah! That is why your Sims read so much! I had not thought of this, so may have been delivering potential Zombie Sims to the cloud. Yuck! Do any of my neighbors find Zombie Sims in Blackbrittown?

I will try to remember to implement this. I save often, but not with Sims doing long tasks. Oh no.
Yes, that's the main reason :) If you see them doing hobbies, it's usually the 24 hours task, too. After saving they do the short task. But sometimes, when I'm "hopping" from town to town, the autosave happens :( So, all I do before I manually save, is not a guarantee ...

Your town: I don't think, I've ever seen Zombies. Right now Douglas is there, working on the TPF. Your sims are a bit depleted, walking like the sims in Another Simtown. He could inspire Veronica, but she is tired and has lost the sparklies again.

Too strange! Thanks for the screenshots. I left them all doing one hour tasks before my last manual save, but Owen was in your town trying to make the strange woodworking ornament, so I suspect I had a lot of autosaves because of hopping from my town to yours and back. I never leave them without tasks, and they are 100% inspired - in theory! But clearly it doesn't really work that way.

I'll have to see if I can work out how to prevent my Sims somehow ending up without tasks and growing rapidly depleted when I am hopping between one town and another. I don't think I've every fully thought about the effects of the autosaves. :?

You're welcome!

When you were hopping between your town and your sim in my town, the autosave didn't happen :) The game can't be saved while a sim is visiting a neighbours town. That's why Owen is at home. He is always at home, unless you sent him to work, competition or any other place in your town. It doesn't matter, whether I come to your manually saved or automatically saved town.

I think we can "see", whether the autosave happend. Most time when I tap the partyboat or the globe, the neighbours list opens rather quickly. Sometimes it takes longer to open the list .... about as long as it needs to manually upload to the cloud.
When I noticed this, I went home with my sim, taped the cloud and saw "last upload a few seconds ago". My last manually save was e.g. 10 minutes ago.

Hope, this all makes sense :?

Yes - it makes sense and is very helpful. I clearly need to go back and read Catherine's posts on cloud saves and auto saves though. I should know that when I have a Sim in another town that my game won't save itself. I don't know what I was thinking. :(

Off to see if I can upgrade my understanding. ;)

Re: Return of the Zombie Sims

I wonder if I ever have Zombie Sims? I manually save twice a day, every day, roughly every 12 hours. I save in the morning, after they are all awake and doing something and again in the evening when they have all come home from work or school and are busy doing whatever they will be doing while I am sleeping. When I save, 90% of my Sims are all either at work or doing long term gardening or sleeping all night. I hope I don't have Zombies! Every once in awhile, there might be somebody sleeping through the alarm when I do the 7 am save, so they would be waking up pretty soon, but you would think they wouldn't be zombies if they just woke up?
I think, therefore, I Sim! (Or I did before they told me to "harvest" them)
