The most annoying goals are those, which require donuts, rocky roads, strawberries and so on. Most of them complete with collecting simoleons and XPs. If you get a fire or the sim eating plant, you have to start again. Of course, when a fire is requested you get brownies or waffles *argh*
The trick is to bake the required item on numerous stoves so hopefully one will not catch fire. I had the waffle goal yesterday and baked the waffles on 10+ stoves. Had to put out fires on half the stoves after that! The good thing is that the item is not considered used up till you click on it so you can bake the item ahead, even the non-burnable ones and leave it there till the goal comes up.
As for the Sim eating plants I noticed that it does not matter whether the actual plant grows or not. But the goal does complete as soon as you open the house concerned so plan ahead if you intend to plant ahead.
I always forget to mention the tricks, when I don't use them
To bake before the goal shows up, is a good idea. I should try this in an not live-in house

The house can be lived in. As long as you don't click on the baked item, it's not considered "used up". The difficulty is in remembering not to click on it

The neighbours update has caused some problems for me. The 'add a sim to town' can turn up again once you reach the sim limit when you have a sim visiting a neighbour forcing you to waste LPs to skip it. Same with the have 4 sims employed in a certain profession...if one of them is off earning an SP the game doesn't register that you have 4...nor does it register that you have 4 when you bring the visiting sim home forcing another waste of LPs.
I've only gotten the divorce one once...I skipped it because I like my couples the way they are thank you very much. I also skip the 'ask a sim to move in' one because I don't want their surname to change.
Since I have reached level 52 I could add and delete severel sims without paying LPs. At least one really good reason, to be at the highest level. But we never know, whether the firemonkeys like to change goodies like this :-/
The move in goal has not been a problem for me until the other day. Most of my couples are not married, so they can move in to a friend and then go back; at the end they had the name like before. But there seems to be a bug with the name changes. I wanted to change the last name of a sim, so I created a "dummy-sim" and let John move in. But his surname did not change. Then I have tried to change the name with moving in to another sim ... no luck, John has still the same surname like before.

Remembering is really difficult. The other difficulty is not to click on it accidently

I've gotten burned on those timed goals too. What bothers me now is the order of the Social Goals. The WooHoo a neighbor goal, then right after Start dating a neighbors sim goal.

Exactly. It's like hey, I just woohooed this guy/woman, now you want me to date another one? What do you think I am?

I know! That's so weird - like they are encouraging bad behavior amongst our Sims, one night stands every where, love 'em and leave 'em? It's kind of creepy. I kind of feel bad for the Sims in Another Simtown, everybody seems to go there for the Woohoo with a neighbor - if Kyle and Emma were real people they would have a really bad reputation (not to mention being exhausted from woo hooing with strangers all day and all night!)
I think, therefore, I Sim! (Or I did before they told me to "harvest" them)

1. On Monday I get a goals that read "Feed ducks in Park On Sunday".
2. Or " Bake chocolate pudding on Tuesday" when the day has just past.
3. Watch a TV show on Thursday.
I don't reset my time but what I find really helpful is using the time zone change to change to another time zone. e.g. on a Saturday night find a country still in Friday night or even changing 10am to midnight to compete goals that are time specific. I do the same for sending sims to work as well. If I miss the time to send them to work or need the free block of time later in the day, I'll adjust the time accordingly when I need to and the flashing briefcase appears.

apparently, they have removed the last name change on non-married Sims living together that alot of the players have been complaining.
And now I have 1 Sim whose last name was changed before the fix and I couldn't get the last name back after moving him back with his partner unless I make them married...

I just moved a Sim in and out just a few days back, no romantic relationships involved just best friends, mother and daughter actually. I must have missed the surname not changing when she moved out. Will be sure to take note the next time the goal comes around.
