Re: Goals - That Make Me Mad
You can unlock the ski lift by skating in a neighbor's town. That's how I unlocked it.
Re: Goals - That Make Me Mad
Congrats for getting to level 26
Have a look at Perturbee's social goal list here to see, which baking goods and vegetables will be required. The order might be different, as Palmjill pointed out, but at least you can compare, whether you can bake and plant them already
The neighbors goals may be adjusted at the next main update. But you never know whether or not FM do really necessary adjustments. Although they did changes at the home goals, they didn't correct translations and wrong mentioned times At least in the German version is still mentioned "midday" instead of "midnight" and "between 18 and 0 h" instead of "6 and 12" for breakfast time

Thankfully I have been working on skating because it was my founder sim's dream to become a figure skater. She hasn't unlocked the ski lift yet, but she's getting there I'm going to peruse the social goals list nowPalmjill wrote:Congrats on hitting level 26! Now to burn those waffles
I think the social goals are the same for everyone. We thought that the order is the same for everyone but now we know that they are not. But the list should be the same irregardless of the order. The other thing you have to do is to unlock the ski lift by getting all the medals as you have the snowboard and toboggan goals. You cannot access the ski lift otherwise. I'm not sure if you can unlock it by skating in another town.

I know how you feel.enkeli63 wrote:Shouldn't the game recognize your level and give you a task you're capable of performing? It seems so wrong that it prevented me from doing social tasks for days
Just when I started playing, the second social goal I got involved a Preteen doing something. I was still in the very early stages of the game and it took me ages to get two sims married, then have a kid, then age him up...
Another one I remember being annoying is the "Extinguish a Fire" one, and at the time the shortest thing I had that could start fires was Doughnuts which took 12hours to bake! - So, I'd leave them overnight but for the first few times they all cooked without burning, so it took ages before I could get past that too (later of course I got those 5min Brownies things which made it much easier).
Re: Goals - That Make Me Mad
Today I experienced my first glitch in the game. I had a goal to BBQ some stuff and it took about 6 hours, if I recall. Anyways, when the sim finished, the goal didn't complete. He didn't stop what he was doing and the timer on him said 0 seconds remaining. I did some other things for a couple minutes and even restarted the game, but he just wouldn't complete his task, so I had to spend LP to finish That was really annoying!!
My sims have been earning a lot of LP with their hobbies, but I have far better uses for them than wasting them on a task that got stuck at the moment of completion!

Yeah, I've had this a couple of times with a BBQ.enkeli63 wrote:Today I experienced my first glitch in the game. I had a goal to BBQ some stuff and it took about 6 hours, if I recall. The task actually takes longer to complete than it originally tells you. If you click on your sim shortly after they start the task, it will give you the correct times it takes (8 hours or something like that), even though on the BBQ it only said 6 hours. But the timer gets a bit weird during the final couple of hours - it will say 0 but in reality you still have two hours to go. You don't have to use LP, just wait an extra couple of hours and it should finish.
The best thing to do is cancel the action and try again, if necessary using another sim and/or another BBQ. Just check once you've started that the countdown says what it should do.
Incidentally, was your sim standing up to eat their meal or sitting down? I had a theory that if they had to stand up (because you have no garden furniture), then it takes longer - but this is just a guess, it might be nothing to do with that.
Re: Goals - That Make Me Mad
Yes, he was standing to eat. There's a bench in the backyard, but I guess he would've needed a table? Anyways, thank you so much for that information! I will keep that in mind for when I get the task again. I thought the game was glitched because the timer said 0 seconds remaining and such.HordePrime wrote: Yeah, I've had this a couple of times with a BBQ.

Re: Goals - That Make Me Mad
Goals that make me mad: goals that require you to buy stuff.
Today I had to buy a dogbone and now my goal is to change the roof of a house.
That 10-key box better be worth it.
And goals that require a preteen, teen or toddler.
I only have 1 teen at the moment and don't want to add any more kids. They're not productive enough.

Re: Goals - That Make Me Mad
I have one of each, just because of that. I keep my toddler busy with her bear for 12 hours at a stretch, when I need to. My pre teen is always cramming, in school or sleeping through the alarm. I had to skip the teen's science project goal (24 hours) because she was busy doing the road to fame thing - they both have deadlines with goals that take a lot of time. I mostly have to finish the timed goals on weekends, when I am not at work. Finished this week's key goal today and hopefully road to fame will get done by tonight and everybody can go back to their normal routines.hiser1974 wrote:Goals that make me mad: goals that require you to buy stuff.

Re: Goals - That Make Me Mad
ROFL!! That cracks me up. I have some sims who are considered "slave labour" but I did just make an extra child so I'll be able to do any goals requiring 2 preteens (I saw there's one that needs 2 preteens). I want to have a second teen soon though, so I will still need to make another child one of these days so I'll have one toddler, 2 preteens and 2 teens.hiser1974 wrote:Goals that make me mad: goals that require you to buy stuff.

I also dislike the goals that make you buy stuff. Like the 12 LP building blocks for the toddler. I was planning to get them one day, for the daycare when I build it, but I don't like being forced to buy stuff when I wasn't already going to. At that point you have to choose to spend 5 LP to skip the goal or 12 LP to complete it Oh well, at least I have a large enough "slave labour" force to be able to make up the LPs in no time! Too bad money isn't as easy to make as LPs...
