Any problems with sfp after updating to ios7?

Post by Dr.Hoo »

Hi guys,

I need to update my ipad to ios7, but before I do, I need to do my research :D . Of course I'll save to the cloud beforehand but did anyone have any problems? Did you have to redownload your game after updating the os? Or did it work ok? :geek:

Thanks! :D

Ps what happened to FM forum, seems like its been down for over a month! Glad I found Perturbee's forum though (even though it's taken me a while  ).

I just had a major crash that zeroed out all my in-progress tasks (and I was 15 hours into barbecuing pork to build my high school!) and sent all my at-work sims home. Then it crashed continuously every time I tried to open it.

But EVERYTHING was effected. No app would stay open once it got past the title screen. I reset my iPad and everything seems to be fine now...

I just did mine Thursday night. All of my updates are set to manual, on purpose - I hate auto update surprises. So I made sure all my Sims were at home and occupied, or at work. Then I saved my game to the cloud, went to the settings to update iOS 7. Then I powered down to reboot and then tried the game to be sure it all worked before I did the SFP update. Made sure everybody was doing something - at least an hour task. Saved it to the cloud again. Then I did the SFP update. No problems here and all goals going OK except Andromeda set the banana bread on fire because she was going to be late for work, so I spent 1 LP to finish it. I got credit for it, even though it burned up. She put the fire out and went to work. All movie marathons went OK last night (thanks, nogard0!) Chocolate pudding is done, working on cheesecake. Have to watch a regular movie at a neighbor's again tonight. About half way on teen quest and 95% on mystery box quest.
I think, therefore, I Sim! (Or I did before they told me to "harvest" them)

Is there an advantage to using the rabbit eared TV? I noticed nogard uses it instead of the bigger TV. I have one of those rabbit eared ones in town and might set it up in the movie theater if there is.... just figured there's a reason that I've not caught onto yet.

Thanks!

Heya *crazy wave* :D

ErinPW: I didn't get your challenge request  but It's great to be back  what have I missed? :D

I'm going to wait to do the sfp update and ios7 update when I get back from the States, as I dont have enough time between now and when I leave to do the time sensitive goals. Most reports on ios7 seem quite positive, so I'm not too worried now :) thanks guys!

I think the TV thing is a matter of timing. Big TVs are faster. Some people need a longer movie marathon so they can do real life stuff, so they use the little TV. I needed an 8 hour marathon, so Seamus turned on nogard0's big TV, even though the rabbits were already into their own marathon on the small TV. Seamus finished the goal just as I woke up to get ready for work this morning. I had him hang around for a little while, to see if the rabbits' marathon would finish before he had to go to work, but he had to leave before their marathon was over.

Depending on what's going on in real life, I set them up to use 1 star or 2 star or 3 star devices for the goals, using the 3 star when I'm not having to go to work and can check in sooner and the lower star items when I'm stuck at the office with no real break to play with them, even at lunch time. I stagger their gardening, too. Whoever is not working at their job or working on a goal, is gardening. I have them do 1 hour, 2 hour, 4 hour jobs during the day, on the off chance I'll need one of them for another goal and at night they do the 7, 8 or 9 hour crops.

I try not to tie up my toddler or my pre-teen, except for goals, in case a goal pops up that says "have a toddler do..." or "have a pre-teen do..." Dora has to go to school, but Molly tends to play with her blackboard (45 minutes) and in the sandbox (1 hour) - sometimes she's in the pool playing pirates (2 hours). I keep her busy, but I know that she'll be available to "ride a rocking horse" or "play with blocks" or "play with tea set" within a certain amount of time. Haven't had too many goals for Dora yet - just after she grew up, we had a lot, but now it's mostly go to school and I make her study to get her grades up. She does karate, too. No ballet goals have come up yet. I wish we could get a new Sim with each level. I can't add one until Level 32, coming up next, but it's slow going since they took the Febreze toilet away. Loved getting all those extra XPs at Bazlit's HFN!
