About the salon... And adoption Q (new adoption Q)

Post by Hufflepuff Karen »

Ok, so I need a Sims FP for dummies book. I just now figured out that it does NOT cost $300,000 for a makeover. For some reason, all these months, every time I look at the salon, I see $300k+ when I got there. Last night it was $500k+ and that's when it hit me, that's my Simoleons that I have available to spend! It's not the cost of getting makeup, it's my budget! Jeekers, I am a Dummy! So I went on a makeover binge and even bought glasses for Arabella and Aurora.

Now that I figured that out, has anybody done a teen makeover? Is the colorful hair available for teens (it's not for pre-teens). Before I either have another baby, or adopt somebody, I need to decide if I'm going to grow Dora into a teen... If she can have pink or blue hair, she'll be the teenager in my game, but I really want her to have weird hair :).

Seriously considering adopting, because it's faster. Can single Sims adopt? Or does one of my married couples have to adopt? Has anybody done that yet?

Thanks in advance!

Just checked the salon and the colored hair is available for teens, both male and female.
No idea about adoption though.

I took screenshots of at least a few hair colors and make ups.

Heehee. I was wondering what hairstyle in the salon cost $300,000.

Thank you all! Yay! I will grow Dora up after she finishes her black belt and gets an "A" at school, then will adopt a pre-teen boy, or have a baby boy and grow him up. That won't be for a day or two yet, so maybe somebody that has done an adoption will know if singles can adopt by then! Thanks again.

Oh, and adopting also bypasses the extra 100LP (or whatever it is) charge for being over your level's sim limit. For now, anyway.

In case you are unaware, the teens cannot do ballet or karate so Dora will lose her karate experience if you make her a teen. I grew 2 preteens with some diving and ice skating skills and they lost that too. I don't think they keep any school experience either.

They do have to start over on hobbies and school. Just in case anyone is wondering the top level for teens in school is 800 simoleans and 550 XP. The preteen top level is 700 simoleans and 800 XP.
