Competition Center glitch?

Post by Akmawmaw »

I had a sim competing in diving. He wasn't finished. When I went to the competition center it awarded me for placing fourth in fashion (twice). :D Then up popped a teen idol competition. So I quickly grew up a teen ( poor awkward, gangly looking fellow) and got him competing. I had thought you could only have one competition going at a time. Now I have two sims at the competition center but the icon only shows 1 being present. I'll monitor them to see that they both complete and return home. I'm a little worried that one of them may get stuck there. :o Then what shall I do? I haven't done much with the competition center previously and my game, up until this last teen update, has been amazingly glitch free. Now those pesky glitches :x seem to be popping up everywhere. Weird. :?:

It's a known bug. I think it gets mixed up with your Neighbour's competition centre.

But to be blunt, the thing is really a waste of time anyway. It takes 24 hours and even if everything works fine, the absolute best you can get is 3LP. Once you're far enough in the game, you can get that in just half an hour (or so) of practising hobbies (and a lot more too). And if you're not likely to come first (because you're not the highest level), then forget it. Spend the time gardening instead and you'll be significantly better off.

Thanks horde prime. I rarely do the competition but needed a break from the constant hobbyng and planting which followed the constant toilet spraying. You're right it's not a good ROI. Thanks for the answer!

I have never competed at the competition center. The reward is too small for the time it takes to do it so I never bothered. Does competing unlock certain limited stuff?

nothing...

which is why i recommend for new players is not to build the competition center unless a future update explicitly need it

I just started building mine after the high school was finished, just because it was there and I hadn't built it yet. Figured it might boost TV to the next level and since I get a decent DR in my mailbox because I started my game at the beginning, even though I didn't play for months and months, at least it's there if I want it.
I think, therefore, I Sim! (Or I did before they told me to "harvest" them)

I just got mine built at level 40. I have a feeling it may be needed for teen idol, but that may or may not be so.

I've already sent my teen there for a teen idol competition so I would guess its a good bet it will be needed.
