I have been trying to figure out if it is possible to make a pool with corners or if you can just get the horseshoe shaped pool with a pre designed home?

Pools that are not just a simple square/rectangle are actually combinations of multiple pools. If you have the two story mansion, go into the pool edit mode and try changing the pool size, it will show you the borders of the individual pool that make up the horseshoe shaped pool.
