In my previous & defunct game, I used to modify until it totally doesn't look like pre-made houses...

but now, I've never modify any pre-made house, except for adding 1 or 2 items, or change the orientation so as to facilitate the movement/interactivity of the Sims... so my town is mostly 'stock' houses

I added a third floor to the two story mansion. Finding a spot to put the stairs was .. interesting since I don't have a teleporter.

My pre-built houses tend to get completely leveled. I just get them for the free furniture!

The only one that still somewhat resembles the original is the 2-story beach side mansion and even that is heavily altered.

I'm trying to save up for the Scandinavian house next, however, I still have 2 more levels to go before I can build another house (level 40).

Very nice SIMazing. You did a terrific job compared to the cramped mess that was the original house!

This is my remake from the Scandinaviën house. I had saved very long to have the 600sp, and when i finale had build this house and it was ready i was dissapointed how it looks so i changed it a lot ;) what i realy like in this game.. The Scandinaviën house comes with very nice decorations, as i like those outside pottery and the clock, and also the kitchen design 8-) :D

I think the decoration are really pretty. I usually buy the pre-built houses just for the stuff that comes with them. I've got such a long way to go to get enough for this, lol, I've only got 50 SPs. Oh well, I'm also in no big rush to get them either.

I like your re-design. The inner courtyard pool is cool.

You could build the designer home on a big lot for LP, and the scandinavian house on a small lot for the lower amount of SP. Both have the same yard, both don't have beachview. But there are still many SPs to earn :o
