I've altered all of them. The most subtle alterations have been to the Japanese Retreat (I swapped the bedroom with the Samurai room and made it slightly bigger, and moved the door to the bathroom), and Neo Tokyo (I swapped the bedroom with the games room, and made the new bedroom slightly bigger then moved the door so that it now leads into the bathroom (a bit odd, but hey-ho)).

The Scandinavian house is just about the only house I'm happy with as is, but I like your inner courtyard pool.

Re: how have you modified pre built houses
Many sims have lived here. This is my oldest build/remodel (the unfurnished studio that you get shortly after beginning), but it's about to be replaced with a three storey family home. I'm feeling stupidly sentimental about it though, so I thought I'd share it for posterity ... or something. Heh!

Re: how have you modified pre built houses
I love looking at all of these! @minisaga : The Weasley house I just posted in the other thread began life as the unfurnished studio. At some point I pulled the rooms apart to make a central courtyard, and from there it has been tweaked to its current four stories. Ron moved in when he first came to Sim Town, and he has remodeled as his funds allow and as his family has grown. They even had a discounted haunted elevator for awhile. So fun!

I love seeing them too! I love visiting neighbors and seeing what everybody does. This thread really expands that fun too. Thanks for that. I don't remember what most of my houses started as. Probably the cheapest thing going!
This one is recognizable only because of the immovable fountain. The Player Built House iirc... And of course the Scaninavian House is the best of the prebuilt and not much modified... I'm pretty sure this was a Studio at some point... Well done everybody, and thanks for sharing

To me the player designed house is the least attractive of all the pre-made houses, but it contains some useful and cool stuff so I built it any way. Though after inventorying the contents I demolished it

Re: how have you modified pre built houses
This is my most recent take on Beachside Escape.
It is now home to a family of eight. Only slight modifications to the main house. Atticus and Eibhlin Lestrade sleep on the ground floor with their youngest two, toddler Cecily and baby Juniper. The guest house is now a 'granny flat' with patio. Where Granny Marjorie spends her days quilting. Upstairs is a large balcony (with external stairs and loo for convenience) and bedrooms for the Lestrade boys. Teenager Sage, and preteen twins Basil and Thyme.
