Great way to make a lot of XP and resources

Post by snoodess »

Maybe this is old news but might be helpful for some. I hadn't visited my nightclub in a very long while. Since the island quest I've been trying to do different actions to see if I can find elusive resources. My poor sims had been slaving away at hobbies so I figured I'd give them some time off and send them to the nightclub. I sent my six woodworkers and four fashion designers. I had one DJ and the rest dance. Over two seven minute DJ shifts with the other 9 doing continual three minute dancing sessions I was able to gain two full percentage points (level 35) and multiple resources (Including some for the teen idol challenge. No idea if I'll get to keep them). Not sure if the XP boost works if you go elsewhere while they are dancing. I assumed not so I stayed in the club for the whole time. I also noticed that there are some jealousy actions (negative sign) if a romantically involved sim does a romantic action with someone else and their beau is in the room. I hadn't noticed that before.

I'm really trying to get to level 40 to unlock the other monument. Any other good ways of making a lot of XPs?

You are already doing it right. Hobbying is the fastest way to get xp. That and modifying your house. I jumped 26% at level 43 when I modified some of my houses.

The big book of stuff from a 1-star bookshelf is a good way to earn lots of XPs, when you can't play for about 24 hours.
We get 1.380 XPs for the big book, and 937 for hibernate.

When I'm sick of doing hobbies, I plant garlic (more xp/24hr compared to burgers), or go for a movie marathon. I used to make my sims read fine literature but that got removed so that's no longer an option. The xp gained from these activities are healthy but it's nothing compared to intensive hobbying. Especially if you have maxed out your Flames of Wisdom monument. :)

Fine literature removed? In my game it's still there. But the XP have been reduced. Reading for 12 hours gives higher XP from preteen bookshelf (3-star)

Sorry, I should have clarified that fine literature no longer serve as a good option xp-wise since the movie marathon yields higher xp per 24 hr. IIRC it used to yield 1500+xp / 12hr which is great when you have something to do irl but it got reduced to 1200+xp. Can't remember the exact number. So depending on the time that you would be away, I would choose movie marathon or garlic for 8hrs action or burgers for 12hrs.

Sometimes I feel like I take this game too seriously.
