I still have the nightclub, competition centre, snow park and high school to build.
The high school will be next but I have to wait to get to level 30 so I can get another Sim.
After that I'm not sure which I should build once I have the money. Except that I've seen the Competition Centre seems kind of useless so I'm definitely not worrying about that one right now.
So essentially I'm really wondering what the benefits of the nightclub are, if any, as I haven't seen to much about it. Is it worth it to spend the Social Points on or should I just wait and go with the Snow Park first? One of my Sims is a skater but completed everything in a neighbour's park.
Nightclub benefits?

I would build the snow park and then the high school. One of the neighbor goals is to snow glide on a toboggan in a neighbor's snow park. Once you unlock the ski lift by ice skating, you can complete that goal in a neighbor's town. The high school might be necessary in the upcoming November teen quest.JKCher wrote:I still have the nightclub, competition centre, snow park and high school to build.

The nightclub is good for building up relationship levels through dancing, though my married sim ended up with an unintended budding romance that way.

Okay thanks, I should've mentioned my Sim did unlock the ski lift. But now I find out I can't even get another Sim until level 32 (I'm 76% to level 29) so now I think it doesn't really matter which I build first, since it will be a while before I can do any of the high school stuff, because I really don't want to make one of my preteen Sims teens since they're both maxed out in Karate and Ballet. LOL
Oh dear those naughty Sims! LOL
Thanks for your help!

Don't bother yet with the night club, and leave the school if you don't have any pre teens. If you want life points (for houses or upgrading your temples on the mystery island) then go for the competition centre. You have to get you sims maxed out on their hobbies but the first prize is 3 life points. One of the hobbies is skating so you need the snow park, it does get complicated lol
Re: Nightclub benefits?
LOL thanks
It wouldn't be so complicated if I had millions of simoleons and thousands of life points. That way could finish all them up in seconds and not have to worry which i should do next

Re: Nightclub benefits?
I would definitely go with the Snow Park first.
It gives you access to the Skating hobby which can be a great source of LP. It is one of the few decent hobbies that Preteens can do, and leveling up is much quicker than it is for diving. Also, once you've unlocked the lift, you get access to some good XP generating actions (that are great for Preteens).
The competition centre is pointless. I think the Nighclub is too; but mine only just finished this morning (the last thing I needed to build), so I haven't really used it yet (but several people have reported problems with it).
It is however possible to unlock the Ski Lift from a Neighbour's town (in exactly the same way). Unlocking one gives you access to them all (in your town and everyone else's).

Re: Nightclub benefits?
Just to expand on my last post; I have just tried my new Nightclub and it all worked fine without any problems.
It does seem to be a very good way to get XP. Basically, if you get someone to "Become DJ" for 7mins, then get as many other sims as possible to Dance, they will all move up the friendship levels very quickly, getting all the normal XP that goes with it. So, you get 150 for becoming a friend, then 300 for becoming a good friend (those figures might not be right but something like that - I even saw a 1000 pop up a couple of times, not sure what that was for), and this is multiplied by the number of sims dancing. So basically, after a couple of rounds, you end up with a lot of XP.
And you can get bonuses from the XP monument and you can even get resources! - I just got an elusive Gold!
So, it's more useful that I originally gave it credit for, but I'm glad I waited until now to get it, because you probably need a lot of sims to make it worthwhile. And I guess the milage is limited, because once you become Best Friends with everyone, there isn't anything more you can get..?
One thing to be careful of is that you still leave a couple of sims to be nemeses, because there's a goal that requires that IIRC.
It looks like you can also "inspire" sims by tending the bar, but I'm not sure how that works, and it seems largely pointless because my sims seem to be always inspired anyway.
Incidentally, I've not had any romantic increases yet, just the friendship ones (which is good as far as I am concerned).

Re: Nightclub benefits?
I keep 10 SIMS constantly using the sled/ski lift. That is a bonus of 5400 XPs an hour, I'm trying to get to level 40 and it's taking forever!
I use the night club in the morning, a quick little 7 minute stop (as long as the DJ is going) and I usually go up two percentage points (don't leave the game or the night club and watch the XPs fly up).
Since my pre-teens really don't have anything else to do, I keep them "cramming" and leveling up to get more XPs (so the elementary school is needed for that).
I have more than enough simoleans so all I am after now is the XPs and choose tasks to get more of that.
I think I may have ruined my nemesis though because I wasn't paying attention to who was dancing the morning away. I wonder, does this goal count if the SIM is enemies with somebody out of town? Anybody know?

Re: Nightclub benefits?
I doubt it. All the "regular" goals need to be done in your own town, so it follows that if a goal requires you to be a nemesis (or a best friend or whatever), you need to have that in your own town too.Lucyvp867 wrote:I think I may have ruined my nemesis though because I wasn't paying attention to who was dancing the morning away. Another thing for iOS users; there is a couple of targets on Game Centre that require a sim to have so many best friends and so many nemeses. This has allowed me to finally achieve it (the friends one that is).
Also something else I've just thought of; having lots of Best Friends allows you to move sims in with each other. This is useful for me because I need to re-arrange a few households and I'm too stingy to pay the 5,000 relocation fee (or whatever it is when you have an empty house). If they could just sort out the last-name thing it would be ideal, otherwise all my sims are going to end up with the same name...

Re: Nightclub benefits?
Oh wow thanks for all the tips, both of you! I hadn't actually considered some of this stuff for getting XP. (And I had read through someone's post today about getting diving medals and didn't even think to have more than one Sim dive to help level up. I wish I'd read that before I had my one Sim slog through for days to get all the medals LOL). One day I'll learn to make the most of my time on this game! LOL
I actually ended up building the Night Club because I didn't have enough money to build the Snow park or school, so I figured may as well build the Night club while waiting for enough cash! LOL
As for the Game Centre 'goals' does that give you any benefit in the game or is it just more 'bragging rights'?
