I have taken out doors and put up a few conifers. Was wondering if it is possible to make a small enclosure with conifers and hunt there only. I can catch them now, but have read the ghost get quick later on.
I have never had a problem catching ghosts. I don't actually remember one ever getting away from me, they aren't that fast. Tough I am on an iPad, it could be harder on a smaller device.

BTW the haunted house from last year did NOT have to reappear this year ... it has been with us all year, for those that got it, the whole time. i added one approx mid year to my museum corner for hysteric oops i mean historic preservation society.

and last year LUCKY spin got a guaranteed NEW ghost for 8 LPs. no work for those with alotta LPs. PLUS the NEW ghost did NOT even have to be UNLOCKED yet !!!

and since the "?haunted?" putting green (spooky looking MAYBE?) is NOT haunted ... i dont think it is worth my effort to go through all that hunting to get it. ghost hunting is NOT even fun anymore with the XXXX recharge CRAP !!!

im getting ghost hunting burnout. i keep hitting furniture that brings up options that i have to close to get ghost, or the wardrobe that brings up the clothes is a quick lost ghost !!! AND my iPad 2 keeps LOCKING on a single point and twirls image until somehow i unlock it.

IMHO GM are really loosing their edge !!!

I hear you about the ghost hunting burnout.
With the recharge on the furniture I find my self ghosthunting way less.
And I have had ghosts escape because I tap the "take picture" button instead of the ghost.
Guess that's what you get when hunting on a small device (iphone)
I'm just going to see if I can catch all ghost/get to lvl 8, if I don't well, nothing lost.

Sure hope the recharge timer goes away after the event.

I finally finished over lunch, but definitely am burned out with ghosthunting. I am bummed that from now on we have six more ghosts to catch before we can earn LP, and that last rare one took forever. At least it is 5 LPs now, but it takes so much time. If this is the future of hobbies, the fun will be gone from the game. I still haven't earned the Scandinavian house, and I'm not sure I will still want it when I have the SPs.

I do like the teens though, so maybe teen idol will be fun.

I couldn't agree more. Every update we receive now, they either slash rewards and/or modify something. Why must they change the things we already enjoyed. Ghost hunting used to be fun...this game used to be fun. I am really getting discouraged with every game "change"! Will I continue to play if things continue this way....doubtful.

I do see why people are complaining about the recharge times, but I don't think it really makes much difference.

All you need to do is get 3 haunted paintings for every ghost hunter you have (and ideally one extra in case you end up on a haunted item when you finish) . With a 10 minute recharge timer each, and a ghost hunt taking at least 3.5 minutes (longer by the time you've caught the ghosts), the first item should have recharged by the time you've finished with the third (if that makes sense).

I always thought it was a bit weird that ghost hunting was the one hobby you could do straight away, really easily, without spending much at all, and from anywhere you like. All the others require specific locations (at least at first), and/or require you to first buy the hobby shop. Not only that, but it is much easier to level up in ghost hunting than it is most of the other hobbies.

And for a while I puzzled over their advice that "the more spooky furniture you have, the greater the probability of catching rare ghosts", or words to that effect, which I have never believed. Maybe it's true to a point, but it has certainly always been possible to acquire all the ghosts from just one item.

So yeah, there's no doubt that ghost hunting is harder now than it was, but I can see why they changed it, and I think the change is justified to bring it more in line with the other hobbies. I would just like to see a greater variation in recharge times that reflects the price of the item, so the skeleton for example (which is very expensive) should have only one minute timer. But nothing's perfect!

I am personally more annoyed with the work-related "promotion" item actions now taking three times longer. I can't see how that's justified seeing as gardening is much more profitable than going to work is, even at the highest level. It now requires me to truncate several more of the neighbour goals in order to maintain my schedule. Oh well.

Also, mathematically, the current scheme is slightly more rewarding. Previously, catching 36 ghosts (12 ghosts X 3 cyclyes) will reward you 9LP. Now it's 10LP (18 ghosts X 2 cycles). The only drawback is the recharge time. Hordeprime's method works well to always have a haunted item.

I have some ideas with them but the houses won't be build before the end of the event.

Wouldn't that be great!

It annoying the ghost hunting I have one who's almost lvl 8 and I'm off for the next 2 days so might put on the classic 80's ghostbusters and get hunting lol.

I have what I started as a "haunted house" so it was already getting full of haunted items which is handy for my hunters I only have 3 on the go seems to be ok I think I need to find 4 more.

I think it its now equal to fishing if it continues to take so long to catch the last ghost, and that is not a good thing. I can only hope it will not always take days to finish. All other hobbies I can complete in an hour or two of grinding.

Yeah, you'll need to use more ghost hunters than you will skaters, woodworkers or divers.

I suspect (but don't know) that the new ghosts are only here for Halloween, and they will be gone by the next update at the latest. I could be wrong though.
