(I just can't bring myself to get on Fb or Twitter - it's an 'age' thing)
(I played Sim on a desktop many, many years ago).
Been playing on my iPad for a whole week now so not very far forward yet, but I have got the Island. No sign of anything to do with Mystery Boxes: (I have the TVs (watched) and the cars (driven)).
I'm not sure how to add neighbours in GC, but I'll keep reading to try to find out.
Many thanks for setting up this forum.
"...age thing" aha

Did you read at that topic Sims Freeplay demographics ?

Regarding GC request, that might help: http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/h ... ccoun.html

Re: Welcome new members, introduce yourself here.
Patience pays! The thing I like about SFP is that my Sims don't starve to death if I'm not constantly hovering over them (like they do in regular Sims). At first, I would send them to work and let them go to sleep, but then I realized that they don't really NEED to sleep, as long as they are busy. A power snooze is just as good as a deep sleep. A turbo snack is as filling as a meal (but I do like to have them all sit down to eat sometimes so I try to make sure they have one "meal" a day). So they garden when they're not at work and while I am at work or sleeping myself. I have some of them plant crops that last until my lunch break, so I can play with them. Sometimes I have my ice skaters (3) practice during my lunch. Other times I have my wood workers build stuff or my divers practice diving (although they all work days, so usually they're diving at night before I settle them down with a 7 or 8 hour crop).
Collect your taxes and XP from your buildings as often as you can. I check every morning, during lunch, after work and before bed. Pick up your party boat gifts every day and your mailbox reward. Don't sell furniture if you buy new furniture. Leave it in inventory, because you don't get very much for it and you can always use it to furnish an empty house. I built a lot of the simplest houses at first - the cheapest ones, then put the left over furniture in them. I built the geek house on a big lot, but nobody moved into it for a few weeks (not enough Sims), but I scavenged all of the computers that came with it so everybody had a computer without me having to buy one. I built the player made home when I started planning for my first baby, because it came with a ton of expensive toys (the LP of the toys and household furniture added up to more than the LP it cost to build the house). I move stuff like that around between houses, rather than buying stuff for every house. The kids don't know they are sharing, they can only play with one thing at a time. I keep most of it in the big house and just have other kids come over to use them, while the mom or dad stays at home - they don't care if there is 1 toddler or 9 (although I've only had 2 so far).
I missed out on a lot of good, interesting things when I didn't play for the last 9 months or so. But I hope newer, good things might come along (and that they'll re-issue the teleporter and bring back Construct-o-Coins for 2nd floors!) When I picked up SFP again, I only had my original 2 Sims and 2 houses - started playing again right before Labor Day, so it's taken 2 months to get to 16 Sims, several houses and actually building my town buildings... just one thing at a time, don't be in a hurry (although I sweat out the timed quests like Mystery Island). I hoard my LP (got lucky and got a $15 App card for my birthday and used it to buy the $14.99 LP / $ bundle, so I can dole them out when it's important (like having to build the car yard in less than 24 hours - I spent 9 LP to finish it 9 hours early, so I could complete the quest in time).
It's a never ending game, so there's no hurry to get to the finish line - there isn't one! It's just having fun and getting to play with little people in a very interesting sandbox. And we get to see what other Simmers think of - some of them are so creative! I love visiting neighbors and poking around their houses and having my Sims interact with their Sims - I take pictures on my iPad as if I was a tourist on vacation and playing with the Sims during lunch is a nice break in an otherwise normally stressful day.

So glad I found these forums! I'm snoodess. Been playing for a few months. Really good information here. Thanks so much!

Hi everyone, I am Lish, and I've been playing sfp since June 2012. I have never played regular Sims, but I've seen some videos on you tube about that game. I'm a middle aged mom of a 13 year old daughter. I found this forum when I did a google search on the new teen update, so I'm glad to be here.
AliciaWS720 on Game Center: §418 mil town value, VIP 10, level 55. Started as a new game during the DIY update. Special thanks to all of you very creative people on this forum for inspiration in designing houses!
My game is fully updated on iOS.

Hey there!
I've been playing SFP off and on for several months, I was fairly active on the forum when it was back at EA. Then it moved and I didn't go with it, lol. I have a habit of picking up and putting the game down.
I recently picked it back up (I had put it down when the social update happened because I was one of those annoyed at my SIMS being romance without my approval). Added to that, all the bugs!
I picked the game back up about a week ago and
I had forgotten how very much I love this game (and the bugs, how could I forget the bugs? Trying to ignore them....).
Anyways, I was a different name back on the EA forum but I've changed my Game Center name to this one and this is the name I'm using now.
This is a pretty sweet looking forum, I followed a link Nogard had posted somewhere to TheLadySimsAlot and found you guys over here. I can't remember where I saw that link, lol. My memory, she ain't what she used to be!

Re: Welcome new members, introduce yourself here.
Hello all, I am a casual gamer whose preference is for role playing games, combined with my love for rearranging my furniture & decorating & having moved several times made finding sims perfect for me.
I joined in time for alien & construct a coins update. I refuse to spend money so am slowly gaining experience. I find the game a great destresser for real life. As I have a wonderful dog in real life I am trying to earn enough lp"s so I can have every breed in the game.
Very happy to find this forum.

Always look for the positive

Hi I was a Sims addict on the computer with 1 and 2. When I saw Freeplay I downloaded instantly. Love the game but phone broke. Had another smartphone but no freeplay. Now, new phone and first thing when setting up apps....search for replay. So I have a new small town.
Nora is my "official" alias. Have been using it forever. Happy to be here.
Almost forgot my Game Center name is Nora and Leo. I habe discovered this game is now social
. Different from when I played before. Please invite me if you are ok with a newbie. Thanks.
