Playing without Neighbors?

I did create the FB account yesterday and was able to back-up my game data I will post in the FB thread, but if any of you would be interested in being my neighbor, I would be honoured! You don't need FB for anything other than a profile ID to be able to connect to the cloud / neighbours. Once linked, the profile ID is used to connect to the FM cloud, nothing more.

You don't even have to visit the FB site, once your account is setup. (Only for adding new neighbours/friends).

I fully understand the opposition you have against FB, they ARE data harvesters and try to get as much from you as they can get away with, so they can either use it for marketing themselves or sell on the data (big bucks!). I used to have a link to a calculator which shows you how much the data is worth that you're giving in return for using FB (or Google, or any other).

If you wish to minimise the amount of data they can get, always log off from FB when you're done. That way they can only gather anonymous data through those like buttons you'll see everywhere.

And to answer the original question, yes, it is possible to play without neighbors. The suggested Titanium Backup is one I can recommend highly (I'm using it on several devices), the downside of it is that you need to be rooted (superuser) and can have only 1 backup (so keeping only the last) while using the free version. The paid version allows up to 50 backups!

Now that you have a FB account, make sure to save to the cloud regularly yourself. The automated system does NOT always works, in my experience it rarely does.

When you visit, you can find most stuff you need for goals in the 2 houses next to the fire station. Everything else in 2 storey mansion (#4 West Oeanside), including pets.

I'm so glad the link worked for you! I tested it myself and then the page was just blank and never loaded anything? I thought it could be because I didn't verify my account or something.

I haven't built a neighbor house yet, but I've started saving up for it. Hopefully I can get it built in a day or two

Thank you so much for the tips about Facebook! I had an account years ago and actually met my husband over Facebook! But then we both disabled our accounts because of privacy concerns. The site has changed a lot since I left it.

I am interested in getting the paid Titanium, but I still need to learn more about it. It sounds like a very useful app, but I don't know anything about being rooted. This is the first time I've ever used an Android device.

I do not have a neighbor house set up yet (because until the other day, I wasn't thinking of doing any social stuff.) It didn't take long reading this forum before I began to feel it would be fun to join in the social aspect of the game Anyways, I'm saving some funds to build a custom house and furnish it with stuff for my visitors to use. It could take a couple days...

I have a profile on FB that is specifically for all my game friends, both Sims and WoW. Anything to do with games and gaming goes through this email and FB identity. I set my privacy to mostly "only me" with a few things set to "friends only" and turned off the email notifications.
I do wish since those of us with android devices have to download the game via Google Play, we could attach via the G+ accounts instead of FB. Also being an EA game, allowing us to use origin IDs should be an option as well.
