Rosie needs to revisit this thread and clarify what she means by 'demolish'. Deleting a house room by room to the grass does not free up the lot. Demolishing it via the house option from the town map does.

It's all good. I think we've answered her question no matter what Rosie meant.

Something I have wondered about;

Normally, the more houses you have, the more expensive new ones are to build (ones that cost simoleans anyway).
So when you (literally) "Demolish" a house, do the prices of subsequent houses go back down or remain at their higher value?

I'm not sure about that, because adding a new house and adding a new Sim are tied together at the beginning of the game. If you demolished all but maybe the first two houses AND made all but your first two Sims leave town forever, would that bring the prices back down? Hmmm... I'm not brave enough to try that!

AS far as I know the price of a house depends on the amount of houses that are build.
So let's say you got 6 houses build and then build the mansion on a premium spot (as the 7th house), it would then cost 108000.
Now you demolish 1 house, so your left with 5 houses build. If you then build the mansion (as 6th) it would cost 90000.
I'm going to check this tomorrow as I'm going to rebuild my city. Going to demolish all but the starter house and start over. I've got only 7 houses build so not that much work.

When I deleted a house from town plan, the prices for new houses decreased. Except the LP-houses.

Ah, yes, I may be mistaken, but I think the prices of the LP houses remain the same as you increase the number of houses in your town. But, the town value of these LP houses goes up. I only have two standard lots and two premium lots left to build on in my town, and the cost to build the Sanctuary on a standard lot is still 12 LP and 22 LP on the premium lot. The town value added for either one of these is over 1 mil simoleons, whereas I believe it was much lower when I first started my town, maybe less than 500,000.

I know LP are hard to come by within the game, but I really believe using them to build houses is the best for increasing town value, and thereby increasing your daily reward. The only exception (using simoleons over LP) is the two-story mansion on the premium lot, which increases your TV by exactly the cost to build it.

Wow thank you all for replying! I wanted to know the correct way to get rid of a house on a lot and be able to build a pre-made or LP house on that same lot. So yes my question was answered and more. Thank you :)

Increasing your tv to raise your daily reward only works for older games. Newly started games have a cap on their daily reward so spending your LP to increase tv is a bit moot.
