Teen idol resources and mansion question

Well on the plus side, i just completed the quest and unlocked the sign and i already have 20 magazine shoots and 10 radio interviews! I had the glitch where my sims have been getting the teen idol resources since the last update and YAY it kept track of what i got!
I expected them not to be counted to be honest, so am happy with the jump start

You are incredibly lucky!
With the exception of something this morning when I first checked it after my overnight tasks completed, I haven't got a single useful resource all day! - And it's not for lack of trying I can tell you!

Man, I thought Magma Embers were rare!

That happened to me too! I remember when the halloween/teen update first came out, before there was anything for teen idol, I started randomly getting the magazine photoshoot and radio interview and had no idea what they were for and they didn't show up anywhere. Then when I completed my sign, there they were.

Same here, had 10 photoshoots and 6 radio interviews from the start. Pleasantly surprised

How do you get the microphone notes to get the magazine shoot? I have all but the middle and 3 days 3 hours left.

you need to buy a microphone from the teen tab in home store and get your teen write music, or rather sing to it

Then all you can do is keep trying and hope you get lucky! - Sooner or latter you'll get it.
My first time through wasn't too hard, but now I'm on the second time and I just keep getting the same songs over and over again. It really is annoying.

I'm wondering what people's plans are for getting the "free" teen idol mansion.

Are you going to strictly play for resources until you earn enough?

Buy all the resources with LP ?

Some combination?

So far I used LP s to speed up some of the instrument times to unlock the sign, but mostly just had my teen play til she got them. To get to level 2 was about 3/4 LP s and 1/4 resources. I've been working on level 3 having the teen play non- stop, and almost all the other Sims ice skating and fashion designing non- stop to earn resources and LP s, I now have a second teen working on the instruments. My plan is to purchase with LPs whatever resources are still needed tomorrow. That will be one week of doing this pretty much constantly. Right now it would cost 100 ish LP s. But I've built up to 415 and almost 2 million Simoleons, so I'll have enough to purchase additional mansions, and redecorate. By tomorrow it should be down to 70 - 80 LPs, I'm guessing.
