maria just finished her 1st song. i have 3 days 13 hours left. will,i finish in time ? i think my teen idol started and i didnt even have a teen yet !!!how much time did it start with ???

It's a 6 day and a fragment, like many of the other challenges. I used my LPs to get through because I didn't have the time to go non-stop with my teen. And I wasn't about to buy 3-star instruments, so I was worried about finishing in time. However, aside from one or two notes of the whole challenge, it was the easiest collection I have ever done. If you are able to go non-stop, or close to it, you'll finish long before your 3 days are up.

Mine started before I had a teen also. I think we have 6 days to complete it.

I'm as far as the 3rd piece of music on the electric guitar, but keep getting repeat pieces. I had thought about just using life points to pass it, but don't seem to have that option on the goal screen for some reason. (Play 12 pieces of music.) I still have over 3 days left, so I guess I have no choice to just have Macy keep playing.

What I did was use my LPs to 'skip' by the hour(s). I wouldn't wait hours for her to compose on the longer pieces. All in all, I spent less on shortening her playing time than I would have on buying the 3-star pieces (mostly because I would let her play a little first, and then use the LPs).

I did that, too, on the last singing thing - 3 hours per note! I let her do the first 3 for the whole 3 hours, but I was getting the backup vocal every time so then I switched to letting her sing for 1 hour (to get the LP to finish down to 1 LP at 1:59) - got one more backup vocal but the last 2 were finally different. Between spending so much LP to get the fastest instruments and then another 5 to finish early... My LP bank is really low. I should have bought the instruments for $ instead of LP, probably would have spent less LP to finish each set a little early. Seems wasteful now since the prize is also 3 star instruments. Gonna put one set in the HFN in case people want to try the multiple teen idol trick.

I bought the cheap simoleon ones and the lower LPs ones. My teen played the lower LP instruments, and I plan to spread the cheapies all over town. When I get around to rebuilding my music hall, the instruments will likely all go there. As soon as I finished the collection grid I placed all my free 3-star ones in my sims-church, just as a holding place. I might buy the 3-star LP versions, just to have them. I am curious if they make any difference toward getting the resources. From what I've read so far, they don't seem to make any difference in getting the hobby grid filled in, except for being quicker, of course.

Ahhh, yes... To skip by the hours! That makes sense. I just had Macy use one lp to finish the song she was on, but she got the heart felt solo again. And so she's off again and I'll let her play for a while like some suggested above cause in real life I need to go do laundry.

Yeah, I'm getting repeats on the guitar pieces too. Maybe I'll use the LPs to speed up completion, but I think she can manage without spending them. I don't want to waste the LPs because I plan to buy a few houses and cats

I did in about four hours (not all at once). I did use three star instruments, and I used LPs to speed up the time on the longer instruments. It only took one LP to skip, except for the last instrument which took two. I had my whole town hobbying to earn LPs.
