Is anyone else having problems completing the fish collection? I'm missing one fish and I've been fishing for weeks and still haven't been able to catch it. Same goes for ghost hunting, the last ghost just never appears. The other hobbies are fine I think though I'm still testing woodworking.

I completed the collection twice just recently, and didn't have any problems. Since you can only have one sim doing it at a time, it takes quite a while to complete the collection, compared to something like fashion design where I have 8+ people working on it at the same time. If you're having trouble getting the last couple of fish for your collection, just cloud-save right before you click the bubble, and if it's one you already have, reset and try again.

I recently got the "catch Cousin Flapsworth in a neighbour's town" social goal (for the first time since unlocking ghost hunting), and it took FOREVER. Never have I been sooo tempted to skip a task with LP (I even followed through with the "divorce a sim" goal)! He finally showed up, though, after what felt like a hundred tries. I should've counted.

I gave up a long time ago trying to repeat the fishing hobby collection. It took a couple weeks to catch them all. It seems 90% of the time you get the breaking bad fish. Also being able to only have one person fishing doesn't help.

Even at ten-minute intervals? Once I got my guy up to level 8 with long sessions, I switched to the ten-minute ones because you still get just as many fish (one) either way. I finished off the collection, reset, and finished it a second time within about a day...

Hi, Guys!

For those who have updated, it might be important to know that if you build the Public Beach, you will have a second fishing post at the tip of the pier. Very handy if you have "Catch fish" as a Life Goal for more than one Sim!

To be honest I haven't done much fishing (other than 24 hrs fishathon as required by one of my life dreams) since updating. But pre update it was definitely "stuck" on the breaking bad fish. I'm not the only one to comment on that.

Regardless fishing doesn't seem like a good hobby to farm LP from as only one sim can do it unless you got the beach (not sure how many can fish there?). It's not like woodworking, skating, ghosthunting where you can mass spam them. I was completing each of those hobbies twice a night every night before I started focusing on life dreams.

Yeah I don't use it for LP, but I did complete the collection twice, for the unlockables (fishersim's outfit the first time, then fishing-themed posters and wallpaper on the second go-round.) Like I said, once he got to level 8 on the long runs, it only took about a day of doing the short ones (and some cloud-saving-and-restoring near the end, when I only had a few fish left to get) to finish up the set, clear it out, and then complete it for the second time.

I think you can still only have one sim fishing at the beach, just like at the park. And one more at a neighbor's town? Not sure if you get collectibles for hobbying in neighbor towns, though, or just XP. I can't remember for sure, but I feel like maybe I didn't actually get a fish when I did the "catch a fish in a neighbor's town" goal.

Fishing isn't as bad as it seems at first. Having two Sims (one at the park and one at the beach) at it who switch hobbies once reaching level 8 (= 6 LPs in total for each) isn't a bad deal at all. All the new hobbies are a lot worse (more items, less rewards).

I rather spread the chances on getting rewards from different hobbies than focussing on only one with all my Sims. Switching a Sim's hobby is always more rewarding than keeping them at it while they're at the highest level.

The Brown Trout bug is seems to jump hobbies. If stuck on the same fish, switch hobbies and let another Sim continue. If that doesn't help, go for one lucky spin (3 LPs), then keep trying again. Chances are that you might get the same fish again once or twice after that, but it should turn the bad fish tide.
Other hobbies that seem to get stuck at the moment are: Music Writing, Arcade Gaming (Teens), Skill Testing (pre-teens) and Snorkelling. Most of the times it's the fourth row of the collection...

You hit the nail on the head, Perturbee!
Since my last post (see above) Im stuck at the last Treasure of my Snorkelling grid. I was hoping the new update would help, but it hasn't!... I did try the Lucky spin trick as recommended, to no avail... I shall keep on trying.

One thing I know, without your interventions and collective views found in this forum, I would have quit playing SFP long time ago. Thanks a million for creating this space, Perturbee!
