Re: Relationship questions

:( Nick's the Mayor of the town and Marcus' hitting the books at the moment. I'll try to patch up their relationship. Only Zac managed to play with Marcus when he was a baby so maybe that's also a reason why Nick's is like a stranger to him.

Regarding Brandy and Nick, I'll try to meet them up later. Brandy might just slap him if she ever see even Nick's shadow

According to the help section within the game, chosing a cheaper engagement ring may result in a refusal to a proposal.
In my experience, the more expensive rings work more often or at least with fewer tries.

I agree. My married Lady Sims have expensive taste and it always took more than one try. :D

I only had any luck with the most expensive ring. It's kind of ridiculous that the rejected rings can't at least be saved to inventory!

I tested them all, never had success with the non-lp rings.
Once I had success with the 5LP ring. But last time I got a couple married (in my main game) she refused that ring and only accepted the most expensive ring. So that was 15LP in total for just the ring. Fortunately trowing a wedding party doesn't cost anything unlike in real life.

I never bought the big expensive one but not the cheapest either but I made sure there was a lot of "romance" going on before I got to it. Eh, that and the Champagne. Ya'll did pull out the good stuff right? Hahahahahaha

katgames wrote:Just a comment for what it is worth.... It sounds to me like you are playing a good game and using good strategies to get where you want to be... Just keep doing that. Do not concern yourself with "playing" catch up with longer-term players. I used to feel that way too. It made me impatient. I read some information in a thread here about "Massive TV" and learned that the rules of the game have changed. So in a sense you are not really playing the same game they are playing. So don't frustrate yourself...just keep playing YOUR game cuz it sounds like your doing great! If this is not relevant just dismiss my comments. I just relate to feeling sort of amazed at some of the places once we got neighbors and I felt like I couldn't get there from here. If you have 3 million § you're doing fabulous.
Thank you so much for the encouragement! It definitely helped and I appreciate your input :)

Does the same apply to a neighbouring Sim? I had one of my Sims date a neighbours to complete the goal, can I just start dating a Sim in my town? Or do I still have to end the relationship in my neighbours town?

You can date multiple Sims in your town, marriage is a different matter ;)
Likewise no problem with dating any number of Sims in your neighbours town. I use the same Sim for my neighbours goals and she is dating more than 10 different Sims in various towns
