Many thanks, Perturbee! (I read your game history post, too. Fascinating.) Good to know the first teen mansion is still free, because I probably wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise! The only time I had a million simoleons was when I was saving for the two-story mansion ... and I only managed that because I took a breather during the couple of untimed quests before Teen Idol to get some things together in my game (town/population planning and such).

Now I see that all the remaining quests in queue are timed ones. Need to figure out which "additional reward" to forgo so I can take another breather ... I have a RL toddler, I can't keep up this kind of pace

I know what you mean. . . I've been obsessed with finishing these, and I've thought about having them hibernate for a day here and there, but then I might miss something good.

Even if you have won this "free" pack 3 stars instruments during the Teen Idol Quest, "thanks" to the Life Dream Update, they are not free anymore....

Their new price is :
- keyboard : 6000 simoleons
- bass : 6500 simoleons
- guitar : 6200 simoleons
- drums : 6000 simoleons
- micro : 5500 simoleons

Yes I noticed that. That's not "too" bad, since I gathered up a lot of simoleons while trying to find LP for the 3 star items

By the way since I"m going to try the teen idol glitch, does anyone know if it matters if my Sim at home already reached the idol stage? It's too late to reset my game back since my backup copy was just updated. Just curious. I'm going to try it and see but wondering if anyone knew off-hand.

OK I tried it and got a message stating that I am not a teen idol, and that I cannot become one in a neighbor's town. Oh well. LOL

They took the teen idol in a neighbor town glitch away with the senior update. If you are done with the quest and have the mansion, you can try sending your Teen Idol to the neighbor town do read a book or take a nap and then see if another teen can play an instrument in your own neighborhood. It will warn you that you can only have one teen idol, but we ignored that. Have your teen play the keyboard until they earn a note. Then bring your real teen idol home and see if they can both still play instruments. Most you can get is two teens playing - before the update you could get every teen to play.
