After I have done a game reset, I noticed that all the costs of town buildings depends on how many you have already built.
For example, at the beggining, you will notice that all town buildings cost 2,500§. The more you add, the higher the price is.
When I caught this trend after my reset, I started with recreational buildings first and found out that it doesn't affect the occupational buildings' cost nor the time it will take to build it (I haven't started with the other buildings. I only have what the quest indicated like the town hall, elementary school and highschool)
So as reference, I built my recreational buildings in this order:
-Supermarket - §75,000
-Promotion R Us -§100,000
-Car Store - §150,000
-Community Center - §175,000
-Pet Store - §200,000
-Park - §250,000
-Ski Park - § 250,000
and now Im torn between the Fancy Store and the Swimming Pool at §275,000.
Which one is better? Open up the Fancy Store first so that I can see all the clothes that I have already unlocked or have the Swimming Pool so that I could have divers?

If you have enough simoleons to build a pool, why not have your divers use a home pool? You can also use pools of neighbours to build up any hobby skills.

If I build the pool now, will my clothes collection from hobbying be lost?ElsieD wrote:If you have enough simoleons to build a pool, why not have your divers use a home pool? You can also use pools of neighbours to build up any hobby skills.
I have enough §§§ to build either of the two since at the moment they are tied up with §§ 275,000 each. Im just torn which one to buy first

You can always have divers by using a neighbor's pool and diving board but you can't use their Fancy Store. *hint hint*

There is a goal to build the swimming centre (or at least, there used to be), so if you wait for that you can earn something extra for building it (not exactly a big deal I know).
There are also several goals that require you to dive, so you will need the swimming centre for that (you can't have diving boards at home until you've got all the diving medals). There is also one goal to visit the fancy dress shop.
It's true you can use your neighbour's diving boards, but only with 1 sim at a time, and of course you won't be able to do any of the neighbour goals while you're diving.
Like other hobbies, diving can be good source of XP and LP.
The fancy dress shop on the other hand is largely only for aesthetic appeal - it has no practical use and you don't really need it, it's just a matter of if you want some other clothes or not. - They don't exactly have a huge selection.
I think the swimming centre is definitely the more valuable of the two, but it is of course up to you.

I skipped that goal~ its one of the first ones in the game.HordePrime wrote:There is a goal to build the swimming centre (or at least, there used to be),
Well, due to a hiccup yesterday, I needed to save up again for the last two buildings. Now my only concern about the fancy dress shop are the clothes that I managed to unlock already.
I've read around the forum and found out that event clothes expire

Now about diving as a hobby and goals for neighbors, it kinda makes me inclined to think that the swimming center is much more needed (*torn between two lovers scenario*

Recently, whenever I do hobbies in a neighbor's town, the creations/medals/collections I get are counted even when I go back to my own town.
So considering animagif's advice, I might just unlock the diving boards from a neighbor's sim whenever I'm busy and make my sims do tasks with the same time limit so that if anything happens (and taking note that I saved my progress in the cloud before doing so) I wont lose anything.
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! (TT^TT) this is sooo hard!

Lol. If it was easy, it wouldn't be as much fun.

I've built my buildings as needed for completing the quest.
There hasn't been a quest to build the pet store, comp centre, car dealership, or supermarket, yet (forgot about, wizard & camping). Will there be one or should I just start to build them? (They're the only ones left to build on the main land map.)
Which one first?
