Houses prices are related to how many houses you have build, not your TV.
For the simoleon ones this means that with every house that you build the price will rise.
LP houses go up with 2 lp after 15 houses but then stay on that level (iirc).

It depends on what you want with your town. For example I love the benches that come with the designer house and they fit perfectly with a design I have in mind for a premium lot on the island. So I will be building that house for the benches and then take it down and build my own house.

Also the Teen Idol Mansion can only be build on a premium lot, so you still could build some of the other houses on the standard lots.

Most cost effective house - Teen mansion. 80LP and you get 3 floors with cool stuff. (the dual monitor computer setup is expensive and you get 2 of them for example)
Most value TV wise = SciFi shuttle. 50LP (iirc) and it boosts your TV by 2.1mil. Ugly house though.

50LP is beach side escape... i think SciFic is around 40LP

My beach side escape costs 52LPs.
And you are both correct. SciFi shuttle is 50LP on premium lot and 40LP on standard lot

52LPs after 15 houses... before that is 50LPs.

I paid 52LPs to build beach side escape, but after completion, i demolish several houses such that the price went down to 50LPs

Just remembered that on the island they look different so have to rethink this.

Thanks guys. I decided to just do LP houses from now on. The cost for me to do the Japanese retreat and neo Tokyo at this point would have been at least (since I don't know how much it'd go up after the second build) the cost for the second floor on my haunted house. I wanted the second floor MUCH more.
