This seems a bit egotistical to start a thread to announce that I've moved my "house for neighbors" so I'm thinking it could be a thread about locations of everyone's special houses? Maybe comments about what sort of set up is most useful? What have you seen that is helpful when you visit?
That said, most of my Game Center peeps seem to have originated from this forum so I want to announce that I have officially moved my HFN to #1West Oceanside, near the Community Center. It's not completely done yet but most everything is there. I'm going to go through the list tomorrow. I still haven't unlocked diving boards but I'm working on it. Before this I had stuff spread between two houses. Now it is all in one place. I've been working toward this for a long, long time so I'm happy it's almost done. I need to finish floors and walls, for some reason it was turning odd colors from what I selected so I stopped. Anyway, that's my big announcement. If you go to my neighbor house -- it's moved. Look near Community Center, Big "N" out front so you can't miss it.
Now turn this into a real thread by adding whatever you wish relative to Neighbor Houses. Thanx!
(My next goal...well one of them is a real Haunted House.)

Re: HFN Location
I prefer HFNs that are located in the main town, rather than out on the island. It just takes a lot of searching and then extra clicking to finally locate it when it's out on the island. Other than that, I just love to see what people have done. I never knew about the trick of making an N with trees in the yard, but I put my golem statue in the front yard of my HFN, so I don't have space to do that myself.
My HFN is located at #2 Firehouse Road, with the Haunted House right next door at #1. My HFN is not finished yet. I need to build the second floor and add the fire pole. Then I will have enough room to add the foosball table and also the preteen bookshelf and desk. I will then be able to spread out the hobby items a little bit more so the main floor is not cluttered by them, and I will add the teen instruments as well. In addition, I am still working on unlocking home diving boards, so the pool doesn't have a diving board. I also need to get the pool recliner, but I'll be snagging one from a prebuilt house later this morning, when the house finishes construction.

I actually started a thread for this purpose here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=126, but it has gotten buried. Mine is listed in my siggy.
HFN at #11 West Side. Haunted House at #1 East Side. Three star instruments at #3 East Side.
Re: HFN Location
I remember my preteen visiting yours and snuggling down between the Sim Eating Plants! Great idea. I just wanted to make sure anyone that comes to my place looking... The old place looks like it was robbed...and it was. I believe I have everything but the diving boards. I put robo a dog and cat there because no one lives there and I feel better about robots handling that. However I gotta say, they do a nice job of digging treasure!telemwill wrote:I actually started a thread for this purpose here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=126, but it has gotten buried. Re: HFN Location
I like the idea of robo pets there. I may do that too when I am able to add a new temporary Sim. I have 7 levels to go!katgames wrote:I remember my preteen visiting yours and snuggling down between the Sim Eating Plants! Great idea. Re: HFN Location
It was kinda expensive but they sure dig a lot! Peeps on Facebook site convinced me to buy food bowls saying they would find more LP. Well see. These pets are getting as expensive is the ones in real life!telemwill wrote: I like the idea of robo pets there. I may do that too when I am able to add a new temporary Sim. I have 7 levels to go!

Re: HFN Location
I encircled my Haunted House with the pointy conifers at s300 apiece, and I noticed that one could see the tree line in the Town view. I tried using the cactus plant, also s300 each, but these do not show up in the Town view.
So I used more pointy conifers and spelled out HFN at the site which I plan to use for that purpose, #21 West Side.
See picture showing the two locations side by side, HFN at #21 West Side, and the Haunted House inside a square of conifers at #22 West Side.

Re: HFN Location
I'm in the middle of moving my house. Sooo I currently have a half built house I've moved it to a premium lots so I can space things out more and have room for all the musical instruments !
