Neighbours? The more the merrier?

Post by JKCher »

I was just wondering as far as neighbours go is it beneficial to have the full amount of neighbours (which I understand is 500). Right now I have 37 but do you get more simoleons the more neighbours you have?

No. In fact you don't even 'need' a neighbor. The game generates one for you to achieve the social goals. Visit 'Another Sim Town.'

Oh okay. Yeah I kinda forgot about that. From what I recall though that game generated one didn't have all the things needed though. I think that's why I sought other Simmers as neighbours.

I think you do get more bonuses from the party boat based on the number of neighbors you have. I don't know what the levels are, but as I added neighbors I went from having one daily amount, to 5 ish.

I end up with friends from here or FB that I mostly visit to get goals met cause I know where all their stuff is and it's easy and because I want to see their town and see new things they have done. But I continue to add peeps that request because I know what it is like when you start out and need to get those goals met. I have a decent neighbor house now that helps with that, so I am happy to add people who identify that their from this forum or that they are at least Sims players. That's the real benefit I see... Helpin' out I'm not sure §are any greater. I never paid attention. It increased but was that because of number or town growth. *shrugs* Not sure...

IIANM the party boat reward maxes out at 5 which you can get with a minimum of 15 neighbours.

I would definitely add more people if they needed a neighbour. Although I know my town is not as beneficial as others as I'm still not able to get certain things like a fire pole. Plus I also feel like I'm such an amateur at decorating and building compared to others! Haha

I went looking on forums before when I needed neighbours too. None of my friends on FB have Sims, except Perturbee. So I don't have an issue adding more people (I prefer Game Centre) just wondered if there was any monetary benefit :)

I think it's nice to have more neighbors so you have variety in your out of town adventures, but you wouldn't need any more than 15 (at least, I think that's how many it takes to get all the Party Boat bonuses). Nonetheless, I have more neighbors than I need, and I enjoy the variety. If you don't mind going to the same places all the time, you don't need to add any new neighbors.

Yes very true, I do enjoy looking at what other people have done. Although when I go to do the goals I tend to go to only a couple of neighbours since I feel like my Sims are 'safer' there and will come back! LOL I'm a wee bit paranoid about them getting stuck somewhere! And logically I know that they could get stuck anywhere (and it's not that common of an occurrence) but still it makes me feel better to do it that way lol
