Sim Speak

Post by Hufflepuff Karen »

Is it just me or does anybody else get Sim Speak stuck in their head?

I've got Dora protesting in the park and all she's been saying for the last 6 hours is the Sim Speak that sounds like "Spend a doorknob, buy the clam." I can't hang around in the park for more than a few minutes or I will be the one going around saying that! She's got another phrase that sounds like "Bee Bee Heart, Tooney Law" and she gets all excited and yells that one every now and then. Makes me wish I understood their language :?

Now that I can hear the music (my sound was out the whole time Dora was earning teen idol, so I'm glad I can hear Cedric), I'm getting those guitar riffs and keyboard notes stuck in my head, too. I gotta go do some real work and get that stuff out of my brain!
I think, therefore, I Sim! (Or I did before they told me to "harvest" them)

YES!! I know exactly what you mean! I usually only get on my kindle fire to play at night, and between the crazy sim talk, the dog barking, and background jingle I couldn't get to sleep! And when I would finally doze off those sound effects would wake me up. Maybe I've just got a soft brain, , or I was playing too long and too late! Either way I shut off all sound effects and music a few months ago and life has been much more pleasant!

LOL! I have to mute it at night, because even though I close the cover on my iPad, when Sybill & Lee come home from work at 2 am, they make that "shoo-shoo" sound to let me know they're home. Then Charlie, Aberforth & Rosmerta do it again at 5 am. I normally get up at 5:30, but I was tired of them all waking me up every night! When I first started playing again, I was dreaming about the little buggers, good thing I have to go to work every day or I would sit here and dissolve into a gelatinous Simmer addict...

I had to turn off the notifications in settings on my iPad because I was getting so tired of hearing "soo-soo" at random times! About Simlish, though, my teen singer, Lark Renee, sounds like she's singing "Loose jawa" at the beginning of her song, and it makes me think of Star Wars, lol!

I have gotten the songs stuck in my head too. One time it was so bad I had to do an online search for a song just so I could know what the rest of the "words" are. I discovered there is an entire album on itunes of just SFP tunes. I wanted to get it, but then I would just be singing in simlish everywhere I go.

HFN 2 -Clue House with 4 firepoles: on island behind Tempest of Bliss (3 Bliss Drive)

You're kidding! Really? I gotta go look that up, just for the fun of it! Bet it never makes the Top 40!

I need to correct myself. The tunes are on Sims albums, not necessarily Sims Freeplay albums. Two of them are "Just A Little Bit" on the album The Sims Social, and "Podie Tie" on the album The Sims 3.

ETA:
Just A Little Bit
Just A Little Bit
Podie Tie
Podie Tie

I actually named one of my cats ShaSha, so her companion would call her by name! :D
