Help! Accidentally made teen sim!

Post by JKCher »

I accidentally made my preteen a teen, just tapped on 'have a birthday' and boom, he's now a teen! (wish there was confirmation with these things). I wasn't even aware that I had a cake for birthdays!

So I'm wondering can I revert back to however many hours ago my data was last saved on the cloud? I'm not sure how that's done. I'm connected to Game Centre and FB but I've only ever saved through the Sims Cloud feature.

Or should I just leave it and wait until I can get another baby and make another preteen. I'm so annoyed with myself. I had one boy and one girl preteen. My boy who is now a teen had all his karate done and was almost up to the very highest level in school. Sigh.

If you wish to reset your game, Erin explains very well how to do it here:

It's really up to you, but hope you have a fairly recent cloud save if you do reset your game.

Okay thanks! I did do what she suggested but then it said it would delete everything! Yikes! There was no option for download. On the cloud it says my last game save was about a day ago, although it says it matches save data. I think I'll just leave it. Thanks for the help.

Yw. I fully understand your trepedition about resetting the game. I was a nervous wreck when I was forced to reset my game after the island update when my sim got stuck in a neighbour's town. You should get an option to restart a new game or download a saved game after you reset.

Anyway no harm in having an extra teen, to write music or to do general goals - I am getting quite a number of teen goals. I have 4 altogether :)

It's strange that I didn't have a download option. Maybe it's because I'd just had a Sim in a neighbour's town for 18 hours and it didn't update yet. I now have three teens, my new one is out driving lol. I just wish he hadn't been so far in the schooling and done with karate with him as a preteen lol. Ah well Sim life goes on ;)

If we don't have the download option, I guess the game doesn't see an important progress. The first time when I had this info, I had fears to lose my game if I tap the reset button. But at the forums I read, people do it all the time. So I did it, too, and got my game back :)
Of course I lost the progress I had made after uploading the last time. But I've also "lost"my mistake :D

It's recommended to upload to the cloud manually, because the automatic upload does not work properly. So, if possible, I save at least two times a day, and take a screenshot right before I do. In case I want to download my saved data, I can compare whether I'll get the last upload.

I di exactly the same to my preteen, so I just deleted him and recreated him using the phone for a preteen option, so I'm afraid it cost me real money. Poor Nathan - it must have been very traumatic for him. It is so easily done.

It didn't take too long to get him back up to scratch for school and ballet, though he wasn't at the top for either of those before.

Yeah I really don't understand why it wasn't there, because I had a purchase issue before that, then firemonkeys sent me a new 'file' today with what I was owed and the download thing worked fine. Of course I lost a little progress but not a big deal. Also I guess I could have played around with it some and see if I could just have it save again but decided to live with my mistake.

When you say manually upload do you mean using another program to do the save? I haven't tried to use anything else as yet, it just seems confusing to me lol. Normally I do go to the party boat a couple of times a day to have it save.

Yes poor Nathan, I wish it wasn't such an easy mistake to make.

I was going to purchase another one, but I'm almost at another level where I can add another Sim, been waiting to add a baby so I can have a toddler around. So once I have my toddler I'm going to purchase another Preteen. And yeah it won't take him that long for his karate, but it seems like the schooling takes forever. But then again it does give them something to do, cause they can't do much! LOL

If the download option is not there close out. Sign out and completely close down. Then reboot log back onto whichever and the download option should be there. Works for me. I use iPad Mini
