After you got your teen mansion...

Post by Terar21 »

Did you switch your teen back to another more profitable hobby? Or leave them as a teen idol?

Yup. Figure skating. I don't see any upside to keeping a teen idol. For one, interaction among teens are weird. Even siblings become swooning fans.

Yeah, I kept mine a teen idol at first because I thought it might affect building new teen mansions, but now I'm think I'll just switch her back to figure skating. And it didn't take long to make her an idol anyway if she needed to be one again.

And that is weird about the swooning. My other teen (her boyfriend) always follows her upstairs and watches her perform. And even if she's not, he goes up and waits

I have a band of five teen idols (two boys, three girls), so I think I'll keep them as they are. I still have two regular school-attending teens and two preteens to do other stuff with.

No, I keep my teen idol in the music business because I enjoy having her do that hobby. She does earn LP from it, but more important to me is the story aspect of it. I enjoy having her be a teen idol 8-) Sure, many of my sims work as slaves, but I play them as well. They do not exist merely to earn money and LP for me, but to be little characters with detailed little lives ;)

Haven't built my mansion yet but I will keep my teen idol. She's gonna laze around in her mansion on mystery island with her brother and another teen who may or may not become her boyfriend lol. She is currently forcing her brother and other teen to listen to her practice her music while they do their school work ;) Oh and she is already quite the diva. She doesn't like anything too close to the kitchen door, refuses to walk through. I had to move the fridge to the other side of the kitchen and couldn't place anything else beside it, the other teens had no problem with it haha

Don't have my mansion yet...grrr... I don't know if I will keep either of them in the music business after the sign gets built. Dora was doing ice skating and diving before this came up - Cedric hasn't done anything else, I adopted him to send him to the neighbors to get another Teen Idol. They don't really have a story line yet, but all of my other little guys do. I was more interested in Dora doing well in school and then becoming something successful or going off to college or something. But they are stuck forever in teen-dom, at least for now. Maybe they'll be a Teen Idol duo with a one-hit-wonder and fade into oblivion, playing little lounges and coffee shops around town to earn pocket money while they do some serious hobbying - I could make them an Olympic Ice Dancing team! They can always fool around with their music, but I won't be doing it to earn LP, that's for sure - it takes too darn long to finish the grid. Woodworking is the easiest, with 4 of them going I can earn 3 LP every few hours when I'm not at work. Ice Skating is pretty good, too - I have 3 skaters now, when I have time to do the warm ups, we can earn 3 LP every couple of hours there, too. I think I need to make my own CC with 4 wood working benches and a frozen pool, so they can all be in one place (that means I need to buy a weather machine!)

About half of my little people have back stories, still working on the others - some of them were just added because I needed to add a Sim, even though I carefully named them and whatnot. As they started doing things, I had to work out how they got there and why they wanted to do that job or that hobby. Rolanda actually has the most "story" because of the recent Homeless Challenge, but I'm working on the others. Since they all have Harry Potter tie-in names, trying to make them fit in a Muggle world with a realistic Muggle story is just necessary!
I think, therefore, I Sim! (Or I did before they told me to "harvest" them)

I am thinking of switching the hobbies of my Teen Idols on my iOS device. But on my android I am still working on the Town Sign to build the mansion!

I love your Sims back stories Karen. You're great withe the story writing

As for Teen Idols. I'm still working on the sign so I need them. I have two. Once the mansion is unlocked I'm not sure. They can dive and still play music so I assume they can skate and still play music too. It would be nice to have a whole band but they teens are so... Useless. I don't want to waste my people on three more.

As it is now my teen will get a different hobby as I'm completely frustrated with the music hobby.
3 days with 2 teens and still the grid is not complete, still need 1 singing note
So pretty much fed up with it.
The second teen is a temporary one, just visiting and will leave once the sign is complete.

Edited to add: and he will finally go to high school as he is now only busy with music making
