Curious what this will mean for the woodworking hobby, if it will mean permanent changes just as with ghosthunting and the Halloween update.
Yeah I was wondering that too!
Well I guess anyone who doesn't have their woodworking up to level 6 should work on that just in case ;)
They are woodworking like crazy! Are two woodworkers enough? Anyways, i have been having trouble catching the live dolls. I've done it before, but help? Pwease?
Yeah the main thing is, is to have one woodworker at the highest level because if they do what they did with the ghost hunting thing at Hallowe'en (they added on extra ghosts) you'll need to have one at the highest level so they can complete any new objects. That is if they actually do that, we don't know if they will at this point but it never hurts to be on the safe side ;)

As for catching the dolls i find you just have to tap and then wait to see where they'll turn then tap again if you see they're not heading toward your Sim woodworker. Just don't tap like crazy like you would a ghost lol.

Also once you complete the grid one time you will get a free bench which will be available in the hobby store (and the option to buy more). Then you can place the bench in one of your houses and you no longer have to worry about catching the dolls, they will come right to you :).

I'm not sure if the bench is available for purchase before you complete the grid, it might be. Someone else should be able to answer that.

I hated catching the dolls! Drove me crazy until I figured out that tapping like crazy was NOT the way to do it - they almost always got away. When your Sim settles at the window of choice, the doll will be at the top of the ladder - he'll head off in any of the 3 directions. If it's toward your Sim, let him go and he'll catch him. If it's on one of the other 2 pipes, tap the doll ONCE and he should turn around and head back to the joint where the 3 pipes come together. He may decide to run right to your Sim (yayy!) or he might go on the other pipe - tap ONCE and he'll turn around again. Every now and then one will still get away (a clean screen is essential), but the one tap and staying calm worked for me nearly every time.

Once you get all the spaces filled and earn your own work bench, buy one and put it at your Sim's house. The dolls don't run away there - you just make them and they count toward $ and XP. I got the dog house and the foosball table within 2 days with 2 Sims doing wood working at home. Now I have 4 Sims all working in one yard and they regularly get me 3 LP every hour or so, if I'm playing them for the 4 minute Quick Practice.
I think, therefore, I Sim! (Or I did before they told me to "harvest" them)
