Need advice on rebuilding town value

Post by SheilaB »

I reduced my town value by 4 million simoleons by selling my haunted elevators after the update. My second teen idol mansion just completed, but added nothing to TV. Downloading a previous cloud save is not an option. I have all community buildings and 20 houses. My daily mail is the newer reduced calculation, so I'm not missing much there. I would like to regain the lost value. Suggestions?

I have seen posts elsewhere that TV is not increasing with building. Mine has been working but I'm afraid I've not seen any solutions. I'm just saying it is apparently an issue.
:geek:
HFN: #1 West Oceanside near Campgrounds
HH: Next to Fire Station

The only thing I can really think of is to keep purchasing the more expensive items, especially building pools.

The best way to increase TV is by renovating the pool. You get half the value of the simoleons spent into your tv as opposed to 1/10 if you buy furniture. Personally, I plant vegetables and use the money gained to renovate the pool. Rinse and repeat.
bazlit on Game Center (not updated to simpocalypse)
HFN at starter house. Ghost hunting at 1 Museum Blvd.

I've had one other house that didn't add. I started construction of my 2nd sim idol mansion with LPs just before befor I updated, since I knew the price changed to simoleons post update. The cgame didn't notify my that construction was complete and no value was added when I tapped on it. I wondered if updating during construction confused the game. I've been tempted to sell the pool(I've read you get 4 million), demolish and build again to see if it would add TV. Does selling a pool lower TV?

I need to build a firepole, so there is one expensive item. :)

I guess somebody is getting new pool tiles.

The exact same thing happened to me. I even took pics as proof:
Just before...
Just before...
... Just after
... Just after
I decided to demolish mine and build another.
By my calculations, you can get 4,125,000 by selling the pool, and a further 150,329 from selling everything else in the house (but this will decrease your TV).

I'm only bothered about TV now to get the LP bonuses as you go up. The daily reward pittance isn't worth anything anymore, especially now they've made it much easier to get money.

My daily reward didn't decrease by much. I just didn't want to be at the bottom of my neighbor's lists so that no one would ever visit me. :D Too bad selling the pool would reduce TV or I'd try again.

I'm not sure if removing the pool reduces the TV or not. Give me a day till my next one builds and I'll let you know.
If it does, it's not by much - less than 20,000.
