Need advice on rebuilding town value

Too bad selling the pool would reduce TV or I'd try again.

I'm not sure if removing the pool reduces the TV or not. Give me a day till my next one builds and I'll let you know.
If it does, it's not by much - less than 20,000.

My daily reward didn't decrease by much. I just didn't want to be at the bottom of my neighbor's lists so that no one would ever visit me. Too bad selling the pool would reduce TV or I'd try again.

Just wanted to let you know that I visit people at the bottom of my list, as I generally enjoy that more than the 100 million + Town Value towns out there

But to add to the discussion, this problem has started happening to me. I did not get the TV for the last 4 houses I built, including the Teen Idol Mansion. Deleting the pool does not decrease your TV, by the way. Anyways, my TV is about 6 million lower than it ought to be, which annoys me greatly because I used that as an indicator of my progress, as a personal thing you know? But now I know it isn't accurate, so whatever...

Incidentally, I am one of the people who got a bonus 6 sims with the update, and I think that may be why I am not getting the TV boost, as I had read that building houses when you have 1 less than the maximum number of sims for your level will prevent the TV glitch. Now I have 6 more sims than my level allows, so maybe I'll never get a TV boost from building houses anymore??? Or it's just random... who knows??

My TV didn't increase for my last house either. It was the Scandinavian & I wondered whether it was because I bought it with SP.

I have not been getting the TV increases either, but maxed out my Sims several levels ago, and long before the latest update. I didn't know there is a glitch related to the number of Sims! I don't get § daily mail increases that are worth talking about, so the lack of TV has been an internal aggravation, much like you mention it is for you (my own way of keeping track).

So I deleted the teen idol mansion room by room placing the contents in my inventory. No decrease in TV. Then I sold the pool. Again no decrease in TV. Then I demolished the now empty lot. No decrease again. Then I built another one and got the increased TV for building it.

I'm not sure if this would be the same for everyone. I would save before you do it.

When we buy any item of furniture, electronics etc (which includes the weather machine) we get 10% of the cost added to the TV. Likewise it decreases by that amount if we sell the item.

The last Teen Idol Mansion that I build, bought with Simoleons, did raise town value. For the houses that didn't raise townvalue I also didn't get a pop-up saying that a house finished building. So far this bug seems pretty random.
Has anyone have it happen with houses bought with simoleons?

I've started a new game on my ipad just a week ago right after the update, and I have been getting my TV increases with building simoleon houses. That's all I can afford right now. I'm working on trying to have my ipad game catch up to my iphone game but with better houses.
