My gift showed up at Charlie's house - he is my starter sim, but he doesn't live in the starter house any more. My starter house is unoccupied since it is currently my HFN. The gift was by the trash bin this morning.
I think, therefore, I Sim! (Or I did before they told me to "harvest" them)

I don't think this would be a problem - at least, this wasn't an issue for me. My starter Sim actually no longer exists ("moved out of town"...), and this wasn't an issue. I also didn't find my present at my starter house - it was at probably the third or fourth house I'd built.

Finally got it! :) It wasn't at my starter house, though, it was actually the one I most recently built, which I was kind of disappointed about, but oh well. At least it came!

I don't know, but I hope so! But it looks like there is a lot more to come, like the fireplace that was shown in the ad.

maybe the gifts don't arrive at midnight but rather 24 hours after opening the last present, like the daily money you get in the mail.

Even though the present was delivered to Charlie's house, he gave the box to their depressed friend Bert... The poor guy lives in the haunted house and he has been trying to fix up the empty second story to live in, without having any haunted furniture.

He had unfinished walls, until today :P Furniture is all hand me downs from friends and he's trying to put some things together that are cheerful, or at least restful when the ghosts start acting up!

On the iTunes update page it says "get your sims ready for the silly season with four FREE Christmas presents delivered to your Sims door - starting Dec 1."
I first just assumed the presents would be delivered consecutively but now I think they might be spread out till "The Missing Xmas Elves" quest starts. Like maybe every third day. So we got one on the 1st then we'll get one on the 4th, the 7th, and the 10th. With the new quest starting on the 13th. It's a guess. I'll be slightly bummed if it is spread out because I've been looking forward to the second one all day but it would give us something to look forward to until the quest starts.
Or you could be right and we get a present delivered every Sunday. Either way I don't think we should be expecting one tonight.

May I ask what ad showed a fireplace? I don't remember the video for this update showing a fireplace.
