Oh that's a great idea! I wish we could save the wall paper to use later. I can't really think of a house I want to put it in, except for Bert's, but if we get lights and things for outside, I might fix up Rolanda's sanctuary a little bit, like an enchanted forest, and give my other Sims some decorations. I have to ask them if any of them are Jewish, since there is a menorah! One of my couples might be mixed and celebrate both, like some real life families I know. I wonder if we will get dreidels and other stuff that's traditionally for Chanukah?

If we buy the decorations, after we use the free one, do we get to keep them in inventory if they are not on display somewhere? I was thinking of making Bert have a little Christmas all year round store, where people could buy ornaments or crafty stuff to make their own decorations. If we can keep the items in inventory, I will buy a couple of each thing, even though they cost LP. If they are going to go away and we can't keep them, it's not worth spending LP on, right?

He can do ghost hunting tours and sell holiday decorations. The upper floor has plenty of room, he really only needs a bedroom and a small living area with a bathroom. That huge dining and living room could be a shop / display area.

I still have Halloween wallpaper, why can't we keep the Christmas wallpaper?
I think, therefore, I Sim! (Or I did before they told me to "harvest" them)

Yeah that's why I wanted to set up the sanctuary to have everything in it. I did make two couples have a menorah and one of them already had the thing for Kwanzaa, they're side by side lol. So I guess they celebrate both ;) I think I might move the Kinara to the other couples house though since it would make more sense for them.

An enchanted forest sounds awesome! And that would be cool if we got other Chanukah things.

I don't know about the inventory thing. But I do know that I put one of my frebreeze toilets in the inventory the other day and it disappeared :( So I wouldn't count on inventory.

I like your idea for the ghost hunting tours and store. That sounds cool!

And yeah I wondered why we couldn't just keep the Christmas paper too... but maybe the Hallowe'en paper will disappear after awhile?

I hope they don't take away Halloween paper, It's added variety. I also agree about the Christmas wallpaper! Some people don't even bother taking down their decorations :P Maybe our Sims want 24/7 Christma :P

Regarding whether or not we get to keep the Christmas decorations we purchased from the home-store in our inventory, Perturbee said in her Christmas and New Year's Eve spoiler post that "The items in the home-store will disappear, not what you have in your inventory." But keep in mind some people have reported that they have had items disappear from their inventory as JKCher mentioned.

Seeing as you can't store wallpapers in your inventory, I'd say if you like the Christmas wallpaper, put it in a house and never take it off. Once it's gone from the store, you are not getting it back. Well, maybe next year.

My gift showed up at Charlie's house - he is my starter sim, but he doesn't live in the starter house any more. My starter house is unoccupied since it is currently my HFN. The gift was by the trash bin this morning.
HFN?
That means House For Neighbors. People put all items which are required for social goals into one house. Often it's marked with an "N" made of coniferes, so you can see it from the town map. This way you needn't search for needed items, and have more time to look through the other houses.

Actually the wallpaper we got is the same as last year's wallpaper so we should get it back next year!

Was there a second gift? I had a sim in a neighbor's town at midnight and (I got my first gift at midnight, so if another would be delivered after 24 hours from when I opened it, one would think midnight?) Anyhow, my sim could not return to his hometown until 1 am (it was a late night of simming!). There was no gift at any house. I logged in this morning and still have no gift anywhere, so I was wondering if there was another gift yet?? Did I miss it, or was there no gift?
