Behind The Sims 25th Birthday Special (All Sims Games)

Post by Valgon »

From their 25th anniversary announcement..

The Sims FreePlay: FreePlay 2000 Events

The Sims FreePlay has an exciting update planned! Starting February 4th, we’re taking you back to the 2000s, where The Sims all began. Participate in special events, unlock velour tracksuits, and enjoy 25 days of in-game gifts featuring some of the most iconic items from The Sims' history!

Finally, we're wrapping up the birthday celebration with something really special. This March, The Sims FreePlay will release a new option to add enhanced lighting for all your home lots. With this addition to the game, sun rays will be able to flood a room, giving it a bright and lofty feeling, or you can dim the lights and create a cozy nook in front of a flickering fireplace. We can’t wait to see how Simmers use it to make their perfect homes.

Thanks you, Valgon!

Sims FreePlay is shown pretty much at the beginning of the video and got nearly a minute :o

I’m curious how the lighting will look at my Sim’s homes!

Yeah I think the new lighting system is why they put notice about minimum OS version since this feature will need more than average technical specifications. This will be a great feature since a graphics upgrade is pretty rare, but maybe this can drain battery power faster than usual.

Then everything else in the video is for TS4 and future release.. I really miss the good old days before TS4, if only they'd showed some new artwork inspired by Sims 1-3.

They said the lighting feature is optional, so you can toggle it off if it’s too much for the device and battery. Probably it’s not the only reason for the new minimum OS versions. The game has expanded a lot since they increased the minimum OS versions a few years ago.

Btw. According to Clau NYsims the new feature won’t appear in the update next week, but in the March update.

Saw her post too, I definitely wont use the lighting feature all the time, for taking picture mainly :)
I wonder if at night we'll get moonlight instead, if we can get a fairy dance circle at home that will be perfect.

Yeah it's for another update, so now we're waiting for a new teaser for next week update, I suppose..

With proper lighting actually SFP sets are miles better than TS4.
Hopefully we can finally have warm and cozy rooms as it's originally intended..
