I need help! I have been working constantly with my teen idol playing music trying to get resources for the sign. I am only on level one (barely) and am making no progress. I have been through the music hobby twice (it takes forever to complete) and that has been to only way I have gotten resources so far. I don't want to spend money and don't have enough LP's to go that route. There must be some way to get resources that I haven't tried. Can anyone give me a clue?

Have your teen idol use a wardrobe repeatedly to change between their normal clothes and their swimming attire. Do it long enough and you can get all the resources this way - much quicker than going through the hobby. Along the way you also get XP and resources for the island monuments.

get 2 Sim, 2 wardrobes side-by-side and perform swimsuit-everyday clothes changing for the 2 Sims. This will help increase the resource drop rate...

however, the TV cameo is a real hard resource to come by, so do grind for LP...

I'll try the wardrobe thing with my teen idol. I've done the playing music thing twice and I haven't even passed to level 1

P.S.: It seems my game sensed I was going to do this cause I've just got he tv show cameo I needed to upgrade to level 1 while designing clothes xD.

I searched this post just because 3 weeks after this I still need 12 tv cameos . But I have all the micros I need! yay!

Are you using the reindeer neighbor glitch to collect LP? I've been doing it every day for about 15 minutes and have saved up 1,000 LP (and that's after using dozens of them to finish fishing, before they changed the percentages and I upgraded my Flames monument to Level 15 to get more XP). At this point, if you have that glitch available, I'd go for the LP to finish your sign, since you're only missing one item. Otherwise, you're going to have to complete the song cycle 12 more times, right? I don't know if the TV cameo drops with any other action - I only saw the microphone pop up from singing in the shower once in awhile!

Actually I could buy them all right now 'cause I have enough LPs to do so but I don't know, I've never used LPs to complete any quests (unless I'm running out of time or something bad happens, like the goal never completes itself) and I like playing so I never use them if I can help it, so it's not really about not having them. I've thought about buying them (believe me I have) but I just can't get myself to do it, and since the prize still will be there when I'm done with the sign (I hope, haha) I think I can wait I don't know maybe I just like to suffer

Yup, they drop for other actions but they're as rare as gold bars. I've seen them in fashion designing, a couple doing the wardrobe thing (which I haven't done more 'cause I haven't had much time to do it ) and like 5 minutes ago I got one for playing the drums (not completing the 3 songs, just a random drop for playing them). The microphones drop more often in fact I have like 3 times the amount of micros I need right now. But I tell you something: once I get my tv cameos I'm not playing another instrument again, the times are crazy, I agree with everybody that some quests are just too long, maybe it's because this one doesn't really have a deadline (like the monuments) but the gold and tv cameos rareness is just too much.

The reindeer glitch: I've accidentally used it , I wasn't really sure about it until I visited some towns which didn't complete the quest.
