Visiting sim returns home immediately after finishing action

Post by settie »

I thought it was a one-time thing, but my visiting sim very often immediately returns home when I go back to visit the town after she's completed a long goal (e.g. deep sleep, gardening) which makes it quite impossible to progress through the goals because it doesn't get registered as done. Does anyone else have a similar issue?

Make sure your Sim is not away for more than 24 hours. They do return automatically at that time. My goals have always registered as complete though, so I am not sure why yours do not.

thanks for that! I suspect it's like telemwill said, they've been there for over 24hours. :D

I'm afraid to leave my Sims in other neighborhoods. Too many stories about trapped Sims. So I stay with them while they are visiting. But it gives me a chance to look at all the fancy houses and see all the future level (for me) items that are on my wish list. I also click on different items when my visiting Sim is not busy to see how long actions take on various items. That helps me plan my shopping so I get the most Bang for my Simoleans. Since I'm still building things, I haven't upgraded furniture, wall paper, floor coverings, etc. Here and there, trying to plan out theme houses or rooms. Getting lots of great ideas from my 8 new neighbors from this forum on GC!
I think, therefore, I Sim! (Or I did before they told me to "harvest" them)

yea I do that too for shorter goals but I usually end up leaving them there if it's anything over an hour and so the pumpkin goal keeps eluding me... haha

So far I have skipped the Hibernate/pumpkin goal so I haven't had any problems finishing goals. Perhaps you can try bringing your Sim back to your town and sending them back just before you start the 24 hour goals. Hopefully that will work for you!

I did that yesterday but still no luck! (bringing them to town just before I start the goal) I might have to spend the 5LPs to skip this one at this rate. I could see the fully-planted pumpkins but my inspired sim just immediately returned home and it didn't register as completed :(

Sounds like a bug then. Might be less aggravating just to skip this and the hibernate one. No harm submitting a bug report as well.

Try to find a garden plot that's far from the letterbox, so that you get enough time to collect the pumpkin while your return Sim is walking out...
